are we making this board unwelcome to new posters?

it seems the new guys post a lot of the sign this guy signthat guy threads and we jump all over them. im just as bad considering i just diricted real steel to a ravens board over him bringing everyone down. im just saying these guys are just trying to start some convo and get there name out there. new guys feel freee to post your thoughts.

 

Im not a new guy, I believe I have been on here since this board was started by TTF (which I could thank him everyday for this board if he let me). But I try to react to some of the board members posts as I would react if they were physically standing in front of me saying what they are posting to my face. I have alot of friends, and they mostly all know how passionate I am about Pittsburgh sports especially the steelers. And some dont follow the steelers as much as me and they try to connect with me by trying to say some of the very things I have seen posted on here by others. I don't jump all over them like they are dumb or dont know what they are talking about. I just try to show them how it wont work or how we cant afford to do this or that. But I am also guilty on here of being sarcastic when some post the sign this person and that person threads. And sarcasm is easier portray in person than it is in a post on here haha.

But to all the new guys on here, just post what you think and dont be scared of the criticisms.

 

Yeah, I suggest socks filled with bars of soap for all new members.

 

i thought you could post anything you wanted. ask questions and opinions. if you dont like the thread, dont read it. i have no trouble doing it. if a thread sounds stupid or not interested, i dont look. kinda like using common sense

I never take much stock in the "sign this guy" post because the poster isn't seriously suggesting signing the player. Instead, the poster really wants to facilitate discussion about a hole on the team. For instance, a post about "sign Steven Jackson" is really about "We have a running back deficiency. Discuss."

I come here for Steelers talk the only thing that gets to me is bashing the team for no real reason. I understand concern and saying hey next year maybe a rough year for us but come on if you bleed black and gold don't act like we are the Browns. You don't have a .750 winning percentage over 43 years by blindly throwing darts at a board. I always fall back on the rooneys know what they are doing.

 

any board you go to there will always be people there that think only what they post is worth reading and if you post something that doesnt fit in with their schedule your going to get hammered.

you just have to have thick skin, post what you want and not care who it bothers. for every A-hole here there are 10 guys that wont give you crap and will actually have a decent conversation.

(Along with the awesome amount of football knowledge, and expertise on salary cap issues, rule specifications, etc, that all the participants here can provide.)...
Plus, it`s always nice to be able to vent, when things aren`t goin your way, for your favorite football team, and your signifigant other, has no clue that football really IS more than just a game...

It would be boring, if we all had the same opinions, so my advice to "newbies", is just to grow thick skin...
We all have our own opinions, and we all think we are always right...
But on here, you can actually find some good give and take, given by people who know what the hell they are talking about, and back it up with facts and stats, and people like me, who are just passionate about their team, and express what they see happening with emotion, and "Black-n-Gold colored glasses"!!!...
Or, "Doom and Gloom"....
Either way...
We are all here, because we care about the best football team in the league!!!
And it makes for great reading, and debates..
