Thats a cop out, I'm too lazy to dig up examples but I'm sure you can find plenty of good coaches who struggled with franchise QB's. Shula/Marino is one, hell, how about Cowher going 6-10 with Ben in 2006?

Cowher was 8-8 with Ben in 2006. And I have looked it up. Coaches who have, what are considered, franchise quarterbacks have winning records 87% of the time and make the playoffs 79% of the time.

Okay, I totally made those statistics up but the point is you can't waste a franchise quarterback's prime years with bad coaching.

We were 8-8 in 06. Ben has never had a losing season. I was at the game where we broke even. We went in to OT against the Bungles and Ben hit Santonio on a slant on the first play of OT for a 60yd td. It was Cowher's last game.

Yeah that was pretty much the reason we got Ben. Wasn't it in 03?

i think it was the last full year Tommy Gun was the QB. We had decided to pretty much abandon the run and just let Maddox sling it. Great idea, huh?!

I actually didn't have to look it up because I remember my wife got irritated at me because my dad got me tix to that game in Cincy for Christmas. I remember it was on December 31 and when they gave me the tix I was glad and I said "well this game doesn't make a difference anyway because the best we can do is 8-8." and she was like "that's an AWFUL thing to say after he got you those tickets" and I was like "well it's TRUE but I'm still glad to be going!" LOL! The bungles were giving out little footballs for that game and this guy was SUPER mad that they lost and was screaming from the upper deck about how they let him down and he hated them and all that. It was awesome! LOL!

I remember that game well. I wasn't actually talking about looking up the record in 2006 but was actually talking about looking up the franchise QB stats which were totally fabricated for BF's benefit, lol.

Oh. LOL. Well at least you got a funny story of a distraught bungles fan. A man can just never forget the sight of a grown man throwing a little plastic toy football at another group of grown men out of sheer rage. LOL.

Real guick, I just wanna say, I applaud "Blast" for his Halloween avatar...
And, I am STILL glad Bruce is gone...
Ben would be getting killed, even MORE, if we weren`t trying eleventy billion wr screens...
Yes, It irks me to watch us try to substitute those, for a run game...
But, we actually HAD a run game, prior to the Faiders... (Pun intended...),
And at least the "bubble screen", is ALMOST GONE...
I`m stickin by my guns, and sayin, good riddance to Arians...
Yes, I admit he`s had success elsewhere(Clowns, Colts, Cards...), but, I am still convinced he wasnt the answer here...
I am willing to admit Haley might not be, either, but I am still hoping...
We seem to have a whole lot of probs this year...
Not used to a lot of things I am seeing.
But I am not willing to lay the blame squareley at Haley`s feet...
For God`s sake, HEATH has dropped/fumbled balls this year...
In my book, He gets a pass, based on his past history...
Ben, has given the ball away, like it`s a hot potato, in crunch time, when he used to make his name, by leading us on game winning drives.
He gets a half a pass, based on what he`s done...
But in a "what have you done for me lately" league...
It is becoming more difficult to give him his due...
I need to see him get back to what he used to do...
Conduct game winning drives, when we need them...
NOT give the ball to the other team....
    I love ya, Ben, but...
Where are all those td`s you were "saving for he regular season"...?
    GO STEELERS!

yea right. bruce ain't all that. haley is less. what's sad is we kept them as long as we did and have. do you think any other OC besides BA, with the team we had could have won a SB here?;)

I think with those players a number of OC's could have won here. BA wasn't special and would have been less special last year without luck. speaking of falling in it.

Adams did play TE at least 6/7 times. I was at the game and the official announced that 76 was an eligible receiver. they must have put in some routes for him to run when he went in as a TE.

This will make them use their safety in pass coverage like when Wallace was here, thus opening up the running game.:lolol:

When a defense is un-disciplined, and don't read their keys a runner can take off for a 93 yard score, that's what a analyst said about this defense this week, grand pa lebeau just lets all of his kids free lance....

Apologize? Never. He is probably the main reason why Ben seems to be so reluctant to change. He enabled Ben and that's why we are where we are now. Our list of future OCs now has to consist of guys that will be willing to coddle him. Why do you think he never got along with Whiz? How many would love to have Whiz. as our OC now?

    ehh, naw. not me.

MT allows ben to butt heads, but he was put in that spot if all accounts are true and the rooney's brought todd here. who knows but i'da love to have been a fly on the wall. our qb's set in his ways and is 31 years old, why would you try to change him now? protect him better and we won't be talking about co-O's.

give him a friggin stud LT once in his time here. give him a 2nd TE that can do 3 things run, catch and block. have a good defense and the rest will take care of itself. we have a good RB. we have a #1 TE. we have decent receivers. we have a good FB. we have part of a good line. we have a decent defense. we are not far off. quit trying to change the face of the team and work with it. TODD!!

this is the halfway point in the season, our young guys should be up to speed. there should be no excuses about new coaches and their players meshing into the offense or defense. thank you for your time:stogie::hello::cool:

I blame Haley and I put the blame on him squarely! Yes, Ben gives the ball away by trying to do something, anything to move the ball, if you can't see that, oh well. Halety calls the plays, when BA would call a bubble screen, he at least had blockers assigned to get yards, Haley calls a bubble screen and we lose yards, he calls plays that casue turn overs because we don't have a good enough o-line to provide enough time(3 seconds) for a play to develop, normally within 2 seconds Ben has to move out of the pocket, when kept clean he has not turned it over but Haley hasn't been able to adapt his offense to the players, he never make mid game adjustments, just like the Raiders game, he did nothing different in the second half, everyone yelled at how BA was predictable, Haley even more so, BA's offense could run 50 plays from 1 formation, Haleys offense is 1 play 1 formation, you can predict exacly what is coming based on the formation, that is why screen passes now lose yards, the other teams know the play before the ball is snapped. Haley gets a lot of blame, some just don't want to admit he is worse than BA, and BA wasn't good, but he is better than what we have now.
