I'm have a serious impairment for modern technology. I can barely use my cell phone and can get to the internet to read stuff but as far as putting up pictures and posting links and all that I just have no earthly idea how that's done. But here's my real question. My wife got me a smart tv for Father's day and for some reason it just won't maintain a good connection to the internet. It's about 40ft or so from the router but so is my ps3 and laptop and 3ds and they will all maintain a connection to netflix. Can anyone tell me if I need to get like a fancier router or something? The things I have hooked to the one I have are a 360, wii, ps3, 3ds, and laptop. Why will all these things work and not my smart tv? My wife wants my ps3 out of the upstairs living room but that's what I have to use to get netflix upstairs since my tv won't pick up a signal. Any suggestions?

I am by no means an expert on smart tv's, but I might be able to help. What's the make and model?

42in LG LS57? I think. I just threw the box away today. I know it's an LS something though.

Got to know what type of router. Exactly where in the room is it located, how close are the neighbors, any microwave use, cordless phones etc. I have a SMART TV but for some reason in order to actually surf the internet and run some apps it says I need to have a wired connection. It browses my network fine and gets updates though.

Yeah the router is a belkin. It's downstairs and the tv is upstairs. The weird thing is that all my other things work fine on wi fi it's just the tv that won't do it. But mine gives updates too. Just doesn't connect enough for netflix and or any of the other online apps. It's 1080p and looks great but I really want to be able to take my ps3 downstairs with the rest of all my other systems.

I think you may have the same issue I have. Let's do everything I want on my network but I can't connect to streaming content. It's in the manual that I need a wired connection to do that. I heven't messed with it in a few weeks, but I'll look at it probably Friday and see what I come up with.

Sweet man. Definitely let me know if you can figure a way to fix it. I didn't know if I needed to get some blinging router or something. I really can't run like 40ft of cable through the floor just to have a wired connection.
