I feel really sorry for AB to a certain extent. I remember my mother ( God rest her soul) was a huge fan of his and she was a 80+ years old die hard Steelers fan. She was so happy with his unbelievable work ethic and how cute his kids were when he was with them after games. Somewhere around the time he took the helicopter ride to opening training camp day that seemed to change. This guy really has gone off the deep end in such a short period of time that one has to believe some of it is CTE related. I cannot condone his actions over the years and my mother is probably shaking her head up there looking down at all this. (Not just football either) I’m certain she’s more proud of her other favorite player. Troy P #43. I’ll bet she is still over the top about how his life is. I’ll tell y’all how much she loved the Steelers. She was going blind and had dementia but we bought her an 80 inch TV that she would sit a foot and a half away from to try and watch the game but couldn’t really see it but she made sure she could hear the play by plays. I sincerely hope AB gets his act together and takes responsibility for his children if nothing else. He owes them that!

Those are special memories with your family. We have had some similar situations, helping my elderly grandmother out of Beaver Stadium.

I agree that something happened along the way. Brown certainly had a propensity for over-the-top, but things got out of control at the end of his career.

 

I don't know about CTE but I'm almost 90% sure he is untreated bi-polar disorder. From interviews he has given, the bizarre spending sprees, the grand plans he makes which start and go no where, the charisma but failing social skills. The manic episodes where he is intensly focused and then goes off on any little slight. It all parallels bi-polar behavior I'm familiar with

 

In a little more than two months, it will be 5 yrs since AB’s last game as a Steeler. 14 catches for 185 yd and 2 TDs at New Orleans. From there, it was a short trip off the deep end.
