That was done to spread his cap hit out, reducing hit this year from $10.6 to $4.6, no new money this year and basically option years. No reason they can’t move on.

 

And Broderick at LEFT tackle where he belongs. Why everyone is pushed into positions they are lesser at is beyond me.

It's getting very obvious our OL coaching and player positioning is an achilles heal given how OL seem to magically improve when they leave for another team.

Yet ONE MORE reason to get Tomlin and the entire staff the heck out of town. Things keep getting worse, season-by-season.

 

Agree with all this. That Weidl agreed to join Steelers was a blessing.

It's hopeful that some of the assumptions here aren't entirely true. Such as Kahn a capologist at heart.

He may be good at that, but he may be even better at evaluating prospects and/or FAs and just didn't have final input over Colbert. We don't know. He also may have played the larger role between him and Weidl on this past draft that appears to be a big success to this point (terrible HC decisions aside, not playing guys, playing guys out of position, not throwing to Washington in RZ, etc).

 

well, agreed you could cut him and eat the money already spent, or extend it and make the cut this year more affordable, coulda, woulda, shoulda, CAP bucks matter when you play it tight, I give no fault for that decision.
