That's awesome! Good deal! I've been going on ebay a lot lately too. I just bought a Ben Roethlisberger/Mike Wallace signed football for $43.00.

 

Just saying.....I collected a ton of MLB autos over last 20 years...never bought one on line. Had them all signed right in front of me.(Card shows,games,hotels) That way I know!!!!..Just REAL leary of buying autos on line.JMHO

 

Definitely agreed you never know when you buy stuff online especially on ebay. If it was from a Sports Collection/Dealer site or whatever who had the player(s) in to sign stuff/etc...then OK...but ya never know if you're getting originals, copies or forgeries.

I only get helmets signed in person. There is a big show in Chantilly,VA next weekend. Jack Lambert, Dermontti Dawson, Jack Butler, Lawrence Timmons, Eric Green, Ernie Mills, most of this year's draft picks and some others. I won't be able to make this show (jet-skiing down in Florida next weekend with my nephew for his graduation present) but I'm connnected to the people that run Hines Ward's 'Forever 86' foundation and they're going to personally take all of my stuff up there and get it signed for me.

I created a Facebook page for myself so that I could simply keep track of what I have and don't have (which, unfortunately, is incomplete -- I have a lot of other stuff like signed jerseys, game-used items, etc in storage). Next step is framing everything and displaying all of the signed helmets in my 'mancave.'

I've never really bought an autographed piece of memorobilia just because to me the fun part was always just meeting the person. But I would like to have an autographed football from Ben just to give to my son since he is named after him. I remember a few months ago there was a thread about getting players signatures and it turns out that Ben is REALLY expensive though. But when they meet people at training camp and stuff all those signatures are free right? Or do you have to pay for like a pass to be in there where they are practicing? I live in TN so I've never been able to do something like that but I would love to.

 

Hmmmmmm, that JACK LAMBERT AUTOGRAPHED JERSEY looks very enticing too. Wonder what the reserve is? But your helmut seems like a really nice buy. Congrats!

 

Players sign at camp for free. My son and I have gone for one day for the past twelve years. He's managed to obtain Ben's signature three or four times. Good luck!
