Brown is ridiculously talented, but he's not half the man that Hines Ward is. I have little respect for players like Brown.

Uhhh no. That's the politically correct speech Ben gave them. He has previously stated that he would love to be apart of AB breaking the receiving yards record. AB has to be patient. He's gonna get his yards and have those big games. Bell has even stated that he want the rushing title. These guys want to excel, be the Best at their position, win games, and win championships. I love their mindset!
    Go Steelers!!

All receivers want the ball thrown to them more often. Rather have a vocal WR that can play opposed to a talented receiver who is suspended or injury prone.

IF he really is irritated I'm not surprised. The great ones always want the ball. I don't think Ben was intentionally overlooking AB yesterday. I just think they had about 14 people covering AB and so Ben put the ball where there was the least amount of defenders. I like seeing AB with the ball in his hands too because he's so fun to watch but if we have to dink and dunk to Bell or DWill all day to win then I am fine with that. If there's genuine discord on the team though then I am NOT fine with that. I will say that it looked like when James scored that AB had drawn a double team and when he realized James had scored the tv broadcast made it appear that he had no emotional response to it whatever. Hopefully you guys that get to watch film will look a little deeper in to this.

There's a case to be made that he really needs to be more mad at Bryant for being such a moron. If Bryant were on the field it would stretch defenses even more thin and give more chances to other guys. Just Bryant's presence would make this offense even MORE potent. However, if Coates starts showing that he can consistently catch and take the top off that will also open up some space downfield for AB.

Brown is leading all WRs in TD catches with 5, leads total receptions with 38, and is only about 50 yards behind the leader in total receiving yards. I don't know why he would be complaining about a lack of involvement.

Honestly, I think he will be more open as Coates begins to produce consistently. No matter how much game planning you do, if Coates beats the CB off the line the S will move over to help. They won't be able to help themselves. This will lead to more opportunities for AB for sure.

Is he mad at himself or mad at Ben and Haley?

Just wish AB could do his job and while doing so be less on the radar and care less about the attention he seeks. For someone that I would have thought had a high self esteem and such a gifted athletes he appears very insecure.

While we Steeler fans know how great he is, and how much value he brings even when he's not the primary target, for the casual NFL fan it's about numbers and highlights on a weekly basis. That drives his marketability to advertisers. He needs numbers on the field to generate numbers off the field.

I'm not terribly troubled. He will he get his numbers.

AB is more interested in the numbers for his contract, doncha think? Maybe Colbert told Haley to cool his stats down for negotiating purposes, lower stats means millions less when they bargain...........

    From the article:

And while Brown obviously wants to put on a show, it's clear that his primary focus is on winning football games, something his team has done all but one time thus far this season.

Sounds like he's focused on winning first.

I will be the first to admit that I am "old school" when it comes to sports, however I am not troubled by this. I kind of like having a quasi-diva on the team. As long as he doesn't get out of control. I like guys with personality, makes me enjoy the team beyond the field, and it allows me to be into this team on personal level. I would be more troubled if he was telling the media he hoped Ben never threw the ball to him and he was content drawing double teams so other receivers could be open!

This is it for me. Love his fire and desire...... BUT-- earlier this year while walking off the field Ben told AB to shut up while he was complaining about not enough targets. At some point enough is enough , penalties, fines, shoes, whining and complaining, ........
