Since basically the fans are all share holders and are part owners of the team did all the season ticket holders get to vote on that contract? I feel most of them would say WTF.

Depends on how the contract is structured. They could do a post June 1st designation and split the cap, but still huge cap hit

Yes indeed, the radio talk shows have been yakking like GB has a choice. Who in their right mind would trade for a 40 YO with that insane Cap hit? They are already 14 or 15 million over for this year. Another year of Rodgers insanity coming lol.

His dead cap is 25 million in 2024, so they almost have to have him play this year, he is signed through 25, either of those years and it could be mananged.

His salary is under 2 million and bonus money 27 to 29..like you i am not sure how that gets separated, with the guaranteed already paid, so they might be able to do it, but with the amount they are already over its crazy.

Russell Wilson's deal is somehow worse with $109m in dead cap space if they get rid of him.

That is if he is released right. June 1st designation.

If it is a trade then its the whole $99 million in dead cap money for Green Bay, or is there someway to get his new team to take some of the hit?

I don’t have the slightest idea and have no interest in learning about his contract

You're right about the June 1st designation. They could spread it over 2 years, but that's still a very large amount of money both those years.
They can't pass any of that money on to another team. If they trade him, they have to eat every penny of the dead cap money.

As long as he plays one more year, they'll be fine. After that, his cap hit shrinks a lot, which is I'm sure what they had in mind when they gave him his most recent contract.

It’s an unusual contract with the $58 million option bonus that is already fully guaranteed. My guess is that Green Bay isn’t on the hook for that bonus if they trade him before the date that the payment is due (if they even can). The new team would pick up the bonus and cap implications.
