I like to give guys a chance rather than dismissing them outright and that is what he has, an opportunity.

yup, just watched Haskins pro day, yeah he is a good passer, threw some good throws, yeah, 1st round pick, but Rivers in that short clip threw better passes, they were smoother and more catchable, and the receiver (our 2nd round draft pick) never once had to correct and slow down to make a catch, Haskins threw a fair amount of balls in his pro day that his receivers caught but they had to slow down or correct their routes, to catch, meaning they would have most likely been picked or broken up if there were a defender on him

i get way too much wow he is a first round draft pick yada yada, you know who else was a first round draft pick: Ryan Leaf, Johnny Manziel, Ki Jana Carter, Tony Mandarich, Huey Richardson

also got to acknowledge that this is Freiermuth's pro day yet his "rent-a-QB", "arm to wear out in drills" QB is stealing some of Freiermuth's thunder, which is even more intriguing because Freiermuth looked very good in "his" pro day workout

think about that, Rivers is getting noticed on Freiermuth's pro day, the guy from a DII school who never went to Penn State gets noticed on someone else's pro day, and that "someone else" happens to be our second round pick, talent rises

Pro days don't excite me. Remember when Mac Jones had a "terrible" pro day, because he slightly overthrew two passes? Cut to clip of Belichick shaking his head and of course there's NO WAY he's drafted by the Patriots LOL!

I'm trying to find a tabular summary of Rivers' college stats. His school doesn't even have them, yet somehow there are fans here who think this Div II QB who hasn't played since 2019 has a shot to replace Ben because he threw a couple nice balls in a dome to an uncovered receiver?

I think Haskins beats out Dobbs for the third QB spot. He'd have to really blow everyone away to get past Rudolph on the depth chart. I see him as the #2 QB on 2022 if he shows continued improvement. He's getting a second chance, I hope he makes the most of it.

i wouldn't mind if they could stash him on the PS, even if he stuck around for the next two or three years in that capacity whats the harm.

Hodges was not 6' 3 230. Practice squad at this point seems logical.

I’m just saying, don’t expect this guy to amount to anything. If he does, great but I have zero expectations.

I wondered how long it would take to make him a short white dude named duck. Duck is still in the league if I'm not mistaken.:cool:

Is Dobbs even Practice Squad eligible?

Haskins could go on the Practice Squad, giving Dobbs an opportunity to run the Wild Cat. Ben has no business being on the field in short yardage situations if the QB sneak is not on the table anymore.

    Ok

None of that has anything to do with my original post implying this other guy will never be a franchise QB just like Duck will never be one.

It wouldn't even be the Wildcat with Dobbs. Does he mean a read-option package?
