Pick up both options..... Safety is one of the weaker position groups in an otherwise very deep draft, and Edmunds is making improvements.... If he doesn't progress enough next season, we can always look to the 2022 draft

Terrell’s option will be what, 11m or thereabouts? You’ll get a comparable free agent strong safety to play for half of that, or better yet get one in the draft. I wouldn’t risk picking up the option personally, if he gets injured they wont be able to rescind the option. He is a good player but was over-drafted and hasn’t worked out to the point where you’d pay him that kind of money unfortunately.

Minkah is a no brainer, they’ll probably do an extension after the 2021 season. Two first team All Pros already in his career, they’ll have to make him the highest paid safety in football.

Should the team pick up both Minks and Terrell's fifth year optipns, that would be quite a bit of firsts for an NFL Team that has had multiple First Round Picks since the CBA. That said, September 16th of 2019 was the beginning of the end for Terrell Edmunds. It is a shame because I wanted him to succeed more than any other player from that 2018 Class.

I had such high expectations of him heading into 2019. Never before have I been that let down so much: doubly so after the Seattle game. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Regarding Minkah, no more need be said about him.

Minkah Fitzpatrick has essentially saved Keith Butler's job. Without him, Butler can join Fichtner into not having their contract renewed.

I would pick up both options. Edmunds has shown some improvement. Hopefully with a healthy linebacker corps in 2021 he takes another step forward. The Steelers stuck with Bud and it paid off. Hopefully the same can be true for TE.

$11M for Edmonds? Absolutely not. What an awful pick.

Edmunds is terrible. Plenty of folks here were fooled when he made one play against the Broncos. He fooled those same fans again when intercepted two passes against the Jaguars, the worst team in the league, when they started an overmatched rookie quarterback against the Steelers. Of course, those were his only two interceptions this season. He makes almost no big plays, with only three interceptions and two sacks in his career. He has not forced a single fumble in three seasons as an NFL starter. He is an inconsistent tackler in space, missing two big ones in the playoff loss to the Browns. He's not good in coverage. Even when he is able to get himself in good position, he fails to make a good play on the ball. If it had been Minkah Fitzpatrick out there on Hooper for the poorly-thrown out route late in the Cleveland game, he probably snacks it for a 100-yard pick-six. Edmunds hesitated and didn't even get a hand on the ball despite being in perfect position.

There is no good part to his game right now. He's a below-average NFL starter. The only value he had this season was that the was a little better than Sean Davis. Taking him in the first round was a terrible blunder by the Steelers. No way in hell they should be picking up his fifth-year option.

I would rather take a flier on someone like Tony Jefferson than bring back Edmunds at $11mil.

Absolutely No on Edmunds, the guy misses every tackle if the player is able to change direction. I don't think that he is that much better than Davis,

Not picking up the option does not mean they cannot re-sign him, just means he is able to hit FA a year sooner. That said if things continue as they are, signing TJ and Minkah, then looking at a Bush contract likely not much left for Edmunds. Not to say he would command much in FA (he may, most did not think Bud would command much in year 3), just reality that you cannot keep them all.

Yeah of course, if he takes a huge leap forward next year they can reevaluate. As things stand, I don’t see how you pick up his option however.

jarvis edmunds. terrell jones. all the same. ive noticed the only thing he does well is put himself in position to make a splash play..... unfortunately 99 percent of the time he doesnt make the splash play. im sure theres dozens of better safeties we can pick up either in the draft or otherwise. c-ya t.e. good for nothing.
