    1. Secondary cannot give up big plays. Houston doesn’t have a good OL and a below average running game. CJ has also not been nearly as consistent since his rookie season. What Houston does have is deep threat WRS. Communicate and man up make them drive the field and I like our odds.

    2. OT both need to have the game of their lives. The two edge rushers for Houston are monsters and can destroy a game. Be smart about chipping and having some screen passes called.

    3. Don’t turn it over. I know that this drives me nuts about MT playing not to lose but with the Texans D you can’t give away points or short fields. I’m not saying never throw to the MOF but ball security running it and Rodgers being smart is the key.

I think we can play with them but scoring will be tough.

    1. Beat them with a bat, while they sleep.

    2. Highjack the team buses, when they leave the hotel for the game.

    3. Score more points than them

Yeah, these all make sense. Houston started the year 3-5 and went on a big winning steak with wins vs the Bills, Jags, and Chargers in there. We should watch the Colts, Jags, and Seahawks games, as they seemed to be the teams that really but points up on them in bunches. If we can play a clean game offensively (no turnovers) and find a way to move the ball a bit, we should have a good chance. Defensively I like your key on not giving up the deep ball, but I really think the key will be turnovers. If we can turn them over and give our offense a couple short fields, that will go a long way to helping us put points up. Houston has a really good defense, but a very mediocre offense.

    My keys are
    1. Win turnover battle
    2. Red zone offense/defense - Hold them to FG's when they move it and score TD's on offense when we have a chance
    3. Come out of the gate playing well - Far too many big games have seen us out-schemed pre-game and we dig ourselves a big hole. Can't fall down 10-0 or 14-0 and expect to win this one.

They will probably play it similar to the Browns game but this time they will have DK.

Would be nice for us to actually get a first quarter lead in a playoff game. I know KC we had a very early lead in one but we’re down 30 5 minutes later.

When we played them during Stroud's rookie season, they beat us with quick plants and dinked and dunked us to negate our pass rush, and we never adjusted

I just remember the very first time we played Stroud, he was dropping passes in between our ILB's and Safties. He made it look easy.

This might be a game where we will need to put up a lot of points to win, because we might slow the offense down, but might not stop them.

keep sending guys on the blitz - especially Herbig.

don't wait until 5 minutes left on the final drive to use Muth.

If Warren is doing it - give him the bulk of the carries

use both backs for screens/short passes - Warren had 5 catches against Baltimore.

use our small fast receivers for quick hits over the middle.

leave the sideline jump balls for Metcalf.

Tush push is for 1 yard or less....nothing more.

    NO wasted time outs.

I'd look at little Heyward as blocking back at times - he can catch too. We used to throw to him when he first came up...he did fine.

If Metcalf takes one step towards the seats - taze him with no warning.

It would be time to have 3-4 turnovers on defense in a playoff game!

They have only 2 turnovers on defense in the last 6 playoffs game, both against the chiefs in 2021

    1) Pray for a cold game with snow showers on Monday Night.

This game goes so much easier if the Indoor, Warm Weather Texans, have to not only be fighting the Steelers, but also the Weather Gods!!!

I spent Christmas with my parents in Houston Texas this year; It was 80 degrees everyday I was down there. No idea how you can even prepare a team to play in freezing temperatures. How do you simulate cold weather conditions?

Looking at the weather forecast, it looks to be clear weather and 30-33 degrees in Pittsburgh next Monday night.

    5. Disrupt helmet communications to Stroud rather than Rodgers this time.

Yeah, I think the defense sucked in that one... but IIRC Pickett had like 100 yards passing deep in the 3rd quarter before getting knocked out with an injury (and it was about the exact time I started to think Pickett just sucked and wasn't going to be a starting caliber QB in the league). We had 0 points at half. Can't beat anyone if you can't move the ball at all.
