    1st half thoughts:

Newman running for his life. Hard to tell if he's even a backup QB.

Deonte Brown is definitely a solid player but he's not effective in the Steelers style under Canada.

Good to see Patrick Jones get a sack.

Patrick Jones has Myles Garrett-eques bend to go with a red hot motor. His athleticism is definitely something I will be interested to look into.

Kellen Mond in like the 4th round could be a good athletic QB to groom, the type that could run Matt Canada's offense.

I think Patrick Jones is very comparable to Bud Dupree. Lean, fast and has a knack of getting sacks. Probably better suited as a 3-4 edge than a 4-3 DE.

    Agreed.

I wonder if he can cover though in space. The fluidity is there, as is the agility. The mental aspect though is something I would like to research in depth more as these months go on.

Amari Rodgers Clemson WR has been one of the best players in the game.

Kellen Mond likely moving up people's boards. That 2-Pt conversation was a big time play. What's the knock on him?

Not enough consistency. Not enough "splash" on the plays that he does display high end traits either.

Damar Hamlin with a nice int. Good to see another kid from Pitt make a play.

I've watched every snap Mond has played. He's basically a one read, take off and run guy. T A&M will be better without him.

I think the players that stood out for me were.
    Keith Taylor DB Washington
    Michael Carter Rb North Carolina
    Elerson Smith Dl Northern Iowa
& a Lb from Ohio st. Who for the life of me I can't remember his name. LoL.

I dont think any of the QBs that played are very good. I know the Sec ones aren't. I have watched every Sec game for the last 4 years. Promise. Frank's is Strong armed , but very slow decision maker. Also locks on receiver most the Time. I already commented on Mond.

He scrambled around, made a few plays, I don't see him as a NFL starter.

I watched about half the game, and I didn’t see a single NFL starting caliber QB. A play here and a play there don’t make for a quality QB. The closest that I saw were Newman and Ehlinger, and that’s only because I’m cutting Newman some slack for being rusty. Newman may have NFL starter potential with some good coaching, but I wouldn’t bet a high pick on him. Ehlinger has nearly zero potential as a long-term NFL starter IMO, but I can see him carving out a career as a decent backup who can help win a few games when the starter is out. He seems like that kind of player (think Hoyer, Matt Moore, etc.). I would actually draft Ehlinger starting in the 5th or 6th round to develop as a backup.

Agreed. That's why I really only commented on the 2 Sec QBs that played. I've watched every snap they've taken. In College.

what are your thoughts on trask? we seem to like certain sized QBs and he fits that part of the equation. just got a feeling about us and him for some reason.

I talked about him on your Mock Draft. I'm scared of him. Cause he had a really great Offensive team. I can say he was light years better than Frank's his predecessor. Best thing for Florida was Frank's getting hurt, but was worse thing for Kentucky when they did it. Ended up costing them the game. LoL. Sorry just remembering back. Anyway IMO I wouldn't take him in the 1st. Any round after yes. IMO
