2016 Wish list

I want Steelers to target Malik Jackson, Trumaine Johnson and eric berry(doubt it) lol.

imo Steelers need to hit up the market to get some pieces now. Our window is closing because once Ben goes I think that's that for awhile.

Thoughts?

 

I would tend to agree. You have to plan for the future without Ben at some point, but that time isn't now. If we're gonna spend money tho, we need to do it wisely. It has to be a player we think would take us over the top.

I think a vet safety signing would be the best route in terms of helping ourselves improve quickly. We can draft a corner and probably another pass rusher.

 

As long as we are smart about things (not spending too much in FA, or signing some of our current guys to unreasonable contracts) we should be good to keep fighting to extend our trophy collection.

 

Yup. Signing a good safety in FA should be cheaper than signing a good CB or OLB in FA, with hopefully the same impact on our defense.

 

You can forget about Eric Berry, the Steelers can't afford him.

I just don't know what we can do though... in my mind we need a legit pass rusher. Silverback isn't coming back IMO, and Jarvis is a question mark.

Can we get a pass rusher good enough that the staff will bench Jarvis? Not sure a guy like that is out there, maybe Tamba Hali?

I think I would draft a 1st round talent safety rather than FA.

 

so assuming we arent getting any big free agents... and blake comes back. Will Boykin resign? If he does we can have boykin, cockrell, gay as outside corners, golson in the slot, golden and mitchell as safeties then just draft a CB and safety? Blake and grant can be backup. I hate to mess up chemistry but blake and allen kinda killed it.

 

I'm assuming we will go into the season with Gay Cockrell and Golson as the starters. Blake will probably be a back up and we will draft someone. Might sign an under the radar FA like Robinson. We had some interest in him last season I believe. Outside shot at signing someone to start, but who knows. It should look something like that tho I think
