Wow @ Fluker! Some long arms he has there and huge wingspan! Also impressed by Ziggy Ansah; that length should come in handy off the edge. Will have to check out Malliciah Goodman, DL from Clemson. Good size/length, would like to see how that relates to the field. Also great to see Ellington pushing 200 lbs; he's on my short list for our first overall and nice to see he has some bulk to go along with his electricity.

    Thanks for posting!

We have enough Ziggy as it is. LOL. I really don't know anything about College. I just wanted to make a joke so don't take it as anything more than that.

    RE: Malliciah Goodman...

Watched two games of him (one from 2011 vs NC State I think and 2012 vs Auburn) and he's consistently late off the ball (last one moving on the DL almost all of the time) and doesn't appear to be overly athletic. However, with those long arms and some good base strength he's able to keep the OT off him and usually stands his ground in run support. He won't be winning any athletic competitions but may be worth a late round flyer as a 3-4 DE prospect.

Fluker is indeed a monster. I knew he was big, but 355 and an 87" wingspan is really, really big. Heck, his wingspan is 5" more than 6'8" Margus Hunt from SMU.

Watch out for those UCONN corners. Those guys are solid players, and will both be on rosters next year.

i agree about the two corners.

the guy i'd like to see us snag is the DE/OLB quanterus smith from western kentucky schooled fluker this year to the tune of 5 sacks. i was never sold on flukers footwork. he's a bulldozer in the run game. that whole line was.

From the DraftCountdown Senior Bowl practice report:

    • Missouri Southern DT Brandon Williams is quick, has nimble feet and moves surprising well for a 341 pounder. Williams fared well in the one-on-one’s, even showing off a spin move at one point. With all that said, the thing that impressed me most about Williams was his motor. After his reps Williams would literally sprint to get back in line and the fact that he is putting forth that type of effort on something that would ordinarily be innocuous really speaks volumes.

Cool! I think we could find a spot for someone like that on our roster.

it depends on who it is that sees these guys. i saw on NFP that hugh thornton was solid as a rock in practices and one site said he was terrible. i do think we will see a NT somewhere in this draft. Moo really screwed up that position for us. we have no idea if he see's jail time for his night out. we did however bring in someone already though. we could possibly use another DE if keisel goes. we just don't know who stays and who goes , so it's really tough to judge this draft. safety and o-line are depth needs for sure. after that anything could go i think.

Unfortunately there is zero film that I could find on Williams. I guess Missouri Southern isn't a big media draw:shrug:!

Those are Dexter Manley long arms. It certainly wouldn't hurt if teh Steelers could get that kind production with a 5th round pick.

Fluker is big but he's slow. Slow with long arms in the NFL leads to lots of holding. Give me agility on a smaller guy any day.
