Early in the game, Steelers needing a 1st down, Bell runs into the back of a lineman instead of going right and gaining probably 20 yards. Second, Mike Mitchell sucked up into the run play when THERE WAS 1 RECEIVER RUNNING A PATTERN!

The Raiders coaching staff wanted to dump Mitchell during his rookie season for poor play but Al Davis overruled. He is known for big hits but also bad angles, lack of focus etc ...

-Who are the Jets starting receivers? Exactly, why wasn't we playing the exact same defense we played against the Colts and Ravens?
-It's like we try to over think this game plan every week.
-The Jets could not move the ball consistently, why wasn't we stacking the line of scrimmage daring them to throw?
-We do not need to EVER run a wide receiver screen. We don't have the precision to do it.
-Where was the blitz? We are talking about Michael Vick!

he is still better than c.allen that we signed for the same amount of money and now is a joke of the league ..an ex db coach that doesnt have clue how to evaluate talents on secondary .. that speaks volume

I have never been a fan of Bell with his stutter step. Teams are figuring it out limiting his rushing yards. He is good out of the backfield on 3rd down and catching the ball. I would not rely on him getting a yard on 3rd down consistently when needed running the ball. Most of his yards were early on in the season and what has he done lately on the ground? He hasn't rushed for over 100 yards since week 3 and only has 1 td for the season. Not what I would expect from a number 1 back. He averaged 57 yards a game over the last 5 games.

Quite honestly, you're trying to find blame where there isn't really any. Bell offers us so much more versatility than the running game, and, looking back at the past 3 games there really hasn't been a place for the running game to flourish. Looking at his rushing stats is completely misleading.

Another thing I can say about this game:

What is it about running QB's? They've always given this teams fits.

I am not blaming Bell for our loses. I agree he is an asset in different phases of the game but not feared by defenses from the running side and think teams are figuring out how to stop him from the running side with the studder step.

Ha studder step is an asset that can't be coached. All the D has figured out, is that our line really ain't all that great consistently. If not for that studder step bell has a whole lot more negative yardage. His vision is hit and miss but his patience and foot work are pretty damn admirable.

Yeah - kinda hard to make positive yardage when the opp team's D is consistently in our backfield before the play has a chance to develop. And that was all day.

The run blocking is lousy. Blount was a terror late last year in NE but he can't get anything going now.

I didn't see game... it sounded like turnovers were too great to overcome otherwise Steelers would have won?

Why Wallace hasn't surpassed Foster amazes me, but then again I'm not the best at line play. All I can say is Wallace seems to hum along better. Maybe if Foster quit turning around to look at Ben everydamn play before the snap he could focus on his assignment better.

All I know is when Wallace was in the game, we had over 200 yds in rushing. Not so with Foster.

That or dumb or has some sugar in the tank who knows? But it's noticeable and I think isn't helping much... Could even be deadpan ing the snap count for all I can guess

I think it is so Pouncey can look at the defense and not back at QB. Probably helps call out protections. The signal for the snap is when he slaps Pounceys hip.

It's actually quite common in the NFL these days. Allows the center and the QB to sync their silent count without worrying about crowd noise and allow the center to focus forward. When I first saw it I wondered why they did it, but if you notice he taps Pouncey on the left leg when he sees that Ben is ready to snap on a silent 2.
