I suppose you could use that argument for any bottom-tier team, but there are plenty of other examples.
I pointed out in another thread that the Bengals lost 8 games last season by one score or less, and they were in most of them in the 4th quarter....
I didn't see it that way. I'm not sure what Fichtner held together exactly. Reviving the failed 'wildcat' maybe, only to have it cost them games....
:drinks:
That was a circumstantial 42 points, including 3 if not 4 of the greatest, most clutch TD receptions you'll ever see, with 2 of them coming on 4th...
Tomlin would be using the 4th-and-15 attempt on the opening kick-off.
What I felt back then was they couldn't win with the combination of Tomlin, Haley and Butler. At least one of them had to go. I wasn't upset when...
There were multiple 'Haley moments' in that game.
That doesn't fit my narrative.
That's a prime example.
I put more blame on Tomlin than Haley. Haley was known for conflict everywhere he went, but I don't remember any between him and Tomlin.
Does any team have less to show for 3 all-pros on offense than Haley's offense in Pittsburgh? He always found a way to screw it up. The only thing...
Again, Haley wasn't the only man for that job. His bad outweighed his good. He'd come up with what seemed like a workable game plan, then p!ss it...
I think you're forgetting a season or two...
Haley wasn't the only guy out there who could have extended Ben's career. The options for OC went beyond Arians or Haley.
'Not bad' OC's don't go from the NFL to high school in 2 years. Hiring him was one of the biggest mistakes the Steelers ever made.
I thought I read he was the offensive coordinator of a high school team in Florida.
Vince showed up at camp toting the strap a couple years ago, and he has regressed ever since. [IMG] [IMG]
