In order to be on the ANY gameday roster, YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE ACTIVE 53. His contract is irrelevant in this case.
You cant have 1 without the other. Any player elevated from the PS is automatically added to the 53, per NFL rules. There has to be room on the 53...
