I really like this one. He's a young guy (24) for a 4 year vet, and while it may not jump off the screen watching him, he's gradually improved each year he's played.

    What do you think?

Excellent contract. Interior looks way better already.

I thought he would land a 5 year contract of 60 million. But I'll take this all day.

This is an excellent signing. You’d have to wonder was there a need to bring in Cole if they were planning this? Would that money have been better spent at ILB? We will see what the plan is for the OLine in time, maybe both will start.

The Steelers are breaking the Steelers mold. I am pleasantly surprised at this activity. I was wrong about how the Steelers would go after free agents this year and couldn't be more pleased. This is a very good signing

I love it! This is a huge signing. My best friend is a lifelong Bears fan and he is livid. Says Daniels was by far their best lineman and he can’t believe Bears let him go.

Both he and Cole can play both center and right guard. Steelers O-line looks much better as of today.

This is what happens when you aren't paying a franchise QB $25M or more per year. The Steelers haven't been able to do this in 15 years.

Kind of like when you get divorced and are free to date again knowing now what you wish you would've then (at least that's how I imagine it;))

This one I like based on his age and upside. If Dotson is healthy we could have two good guards.

Yes there was a need for Cole. We had problems at center. At he can compete there.

Also Tomlin likes players who can play multiple spots on the line. Cole and Daniels can rotate, if needed.

So at worse Cole can take over very well for an injured center or guard. But I think he'll compete for a starter position.

Also Cole is very cheap. And he had a great grade when he played for Vikings on guard and center.

I think the Steelers believe we just signed two starters to the Offensive Line. Obviously Green will be given a chance to compete (as will Leglue) but either of them earning a spot at C or G would mean that they vastly improved over the offseason and I am sure that would be a welcome sight.

Now all we need is a starting SS, a starting CB, a starting ILB, and another WR. We have the rest of FA and the draft to solve those issues. I like where we are at the moment.

As do I. I was never on the doom and gloom train really because I knew that for the first time in forever they actually had some money.

The big question mark is QB, if Trubisky is decent I think they’ll be right there in the Division race again

There is a need for Mason Cole being here; insurance just in case Kendrick Green either gets hurt or worst, still has not developed. Should Green have shown improvement (which I believe he will but how much is fair to question), Cole acts as a mentor of sorts to him. Not only just Green, Cole has played Guard and it is also insurance to either Dotson or Daniels... god forbid.

    Agreed.

Not only this, it also pushes the IOL (Interior Offensive Line) down the draft board a bit. Still believe that the team will address this in the draft but not in the early rounds like I thought; early Day Three at the earliest. Perhaps @mac daddyo@mac daddyo and his prediction of Cade Mays from the University of Tennessee is more so a possibility now than when FA began; all the more reason I hold off on predictions based on which position the team takes in Round One.

Watched some tape. This guy looks like a Beast! Hope he has some leadership qualities, and some nasty can rub off on Chuks and rest of OL.

Me too, this is a start for us to be competitive again. We still have needs and talent level
needs increased. ILB and Cb needs addressed as does added OL depth. Why is Shoebert still on team?
