Will the Steeler nation finally understand we are not getting a superstar QB in a trade

I have to admit, I am beginning to like Ridder more and more. I don't think I 'd take him in the first but I might take him in round two.

Probably not but I’ll still hope for it anyway. Instantly levels the playing field among the other QB’s.

Remember this coming from the guy that doesn’t think Allen is great ;)

By the way, walk out of Steelers Nation and most people think Jackson is a top QB in the league

MIKE is the strong side(TE) ILB
WILL is the weak side ILB
SAM is the strong side OLB
JACK or JOKER is the other OLB

Often the SAM or MIKE is responsible for the TE and the JACK/JOKER is the pass rusher

The way the Steelers 3-4 works the SAM and JOKER are interchangeable both sides have to be able to be both, and are often just called the LOLB and ROLB

I'm sure someone else can break it down better, but that is the basics

If you listen closely you can hear QBs weekly calling out at the line
"55 is the MIKE" for blocking assignments

I understand not wanting the guy, especially with the accusations of sexual misconduct and the reported asking price, but I do not understand a football fan failing to realize that Watson is a special player.

Ok but let me ask this, if he is such a special player, why aren't the Texans going all out to keep him like Green Bay did with Rodgers? Maybe they will.

We had a franchise QB the last 11 years of playoff mediocrity. All of a sudden a savior is going to sweep in, getting major coin and take away draft capital for years to come and BOOM, Super Bowl. Oh yea, that's going to happen.

Some just can't face the fact that this team will have a few down years. So what. I have lived through plenty. If the end result is building back a solid team and actually competing in the playoffs not just squeaking out a winning season that would be great. Then competing for a Super Bowl.

Yeah, every time you see a QB point and yell "he's the Mike, he's the Mike!" they are just referring to the gentleman's name.

I don't know the whole story there, but it started with him wanting out. The Texans are a poorly-run organization that clearly tanked, trading away key veterans including DeAndre Hopkins. How the hell do you tank when you have an elite quarterback? One of the things that really impressed me was how Watson continued to improve even after they traded away Hopkins in 2020.

Rodgers obviously has a better resume. He has a Super Bowl ring with the Packers. He has been around longer. Watson isn't quite on that level, but he was easily among the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL in 2020. Of course, that was before the 22 accusations of sexual misconduct. That is part of why he is still with the Texans. It seems as if they still think they should get the same return in trade now that they would have gotten before the accusations. That helps highlight the other difference in the two situations. The Packers are mostly a well-run organization. The Texans are a **** show.

not speaking about watson in this, just about the texans in general. i think these teams that draft heavy in the early rounds every year have problems. cleveland for years had tons of early picks only for them to fall on their faces. so many egos to massage. (watsons situation not withstanding). these teams are like a young kid at Christmas with too many toys to play with. i don't think they approach the drafts wisely because they have more picks to use if they don't work out immediately. they just keep changing. like the fat kid at the end of the chocolate assembly line.

The even better part is when the QB or member of the offense tries to play it off like it means nothing, so when the defense figures out the meaning and blows up the play they can go dilly dilly literally is gibberish but we all know differently.
