Buy or sell that in 2022, Isaiahh Loudermilk becomes a solid starting end opposite Cam Heyward and plays well enough that we never hear Stephen Tuitt's name again.

I am buying this. I thought Loudermilk was playing really well at the end of 21. I rewatched the Cleveland home game last night and got to key on him a little bit.

As good as he finished out the year Loudermilk should be even better coming into year two. I think we may have found our starting line. Heyward, Alualu, and Loudermilk.

i agree and wormley had a good season as well. 58 tackles 7 sacks. our trouble is the guys behind them. we need to fix the ILB position.

Buy. Unless he's 100% physically and emotionally healthy, I'd happily use the $9M 6/1 Tuitt money elsewhere.

Still want Tuitt back but I like what I have seen out of Loudermilk so far.

I'm buying that Loudermilk is getting better, and will be good, but I believe some have forgotten how great Tuitt is when He played. I would be ecstatic for both 2 be able 2 play.

Sell.... but this is not a knock on Loudermilk....I just think he will still be behind Worm and hopefully Tuitt

Those 4 (with Cam) make a nice rotation

It's nothing against Tuitt for me. But I would rather save the money and roll with Loudermilk. The kid is only going to get better and like others have pointed out Wormly has been pretty solid. Loudermilk isn't the player that Tuitt is yet, but he has the potential to be just as good.

I thought he played well, but don’t think he will be at the level we need in 2022. Maybe 2023

I'll say, a lot of us on draft day were either dumbfounded, pissed, or both when they used a 4th rd pick on him in the 5th round. But, I'd say, at this point, he seems to be worth at least a 4th rd pick.

Perhaps I overreacted that day. :whistley:

I liked what I saw as the season wore on with Loudermilk.
at 6'7" a QB had to be wary throwing over him.
He was using his hands better and maintain gaps a lot better.
I think Tuitt is the better player but at the cost?

He will hit the team for just under $14mil.
If you cut him after June 1, as I recall you can save about $8 or $9 mil..
I wouldn't want to increase Draft needs and the Steelers are in good as far as Cap room goes.
So, I would probably keep Tuitt in 22 and see what happens.

    Buy

Loudermill is on the upswing with a lot of potential for improvement

Tuitt certainly is not on the upswing at his age

Plus, Loudermilk is an intelligent guy (BS Finance) so his head should be in the right place towards learning and getting better

He also has room to put a little more meat and potatoes on those bones

What if Tuitt can comeback at ....let's say....92%? Would that not still put Him in top 15 DL in the league???

I’d gladly have him back. The OP sounded like an either or so I was going with the young guy going up.

Sell, they need all the DL help they can get, if Tuitt and Alalu come back the run defense should improve along with better ILB play.

    BUY

I don't expect better than average play at this stage, unless he goes beastmode in the weight room in the off-season. The DL could be in great shape, but no doubt we have a few ANCIENT DL, merely one or two years from 2 or 3 retiring. I know we got all sorts of holes, or at least places we could sorely use an upgrade, but I'd be pretty stoked to get the massive NT/DT Davis from UGA. Beast and not "fat" and unlikely to need to come off the field on 3rd down, save for a rest (rotation) for a couple of plays like most of the DL get.
