Who was the last Steelers quarterback to call his own plays? Was it Bradshaw? Stoudt? Malone? Did Joe Walton call the plays for Bubby Brister? Thank you in advance.

brister definitely did not call his own plays. In fact the oc at the time had this mind numbingly stupid idea of telling a player on the sideline the call and then having that player run to the huddle to relay to brister who in turn called the play.

I'll be okay with firing Canada, and giving Mason all the play calling power.

That was pretty standard at the time. Idk when the major shift came with coaches calling plays. I remember there was a lit of talk because Landry called the plays for Staubach, but he still had the audible and of course was quite adept at extending plays and making yards with his legs.

right, but the play calls were also simple. Our OC had very complex play calls and they got screwed up along the way. Brister talked about it publicly at the time. They finally had a powwow and managed to come up with a simpler method.

I kind of liked the Idea.. LoL. It's going 2 take a lot for Me 2 like Canada....if I'm being honest. I watched 2 much of Him in college, and was not impressed with His college game .
I really don't think it gets easier in the NFL

Yeah but I don’t want him calling the plays, come on :lolol:

And you hope he is the starting QB, Haskins and Dobbs are on the roster, lol.

Actually, they should draft Willis, start Dobbs and then 8 games into the season switch to Wills and the game plan will remain the same without missing a beat :hehehe:

@PWP@PWP will approve of this message.

I'm only going with Mason as the Starter because apparently that How the Steelers went when Ben was out. Had they went with Haskins when Ben was out....Well I would say Haskins. LoL. Yes....PWP supports that message. LoL

I thought @PWP@PWP wanted to draft Corral and move him to strong safety?

Well, Big Ben is the last QB to call his own plays. :smiley1:

I throw caution to anyone who thinks Haskins is the savior.
It would be a nice story, if somehow, he did.
I was right there on the sidelines watching this guy... he bathed in the limelight but when it came time to produce, I just as soon as had Terry Hanratty.

I hate when people take "QB of the defense" that literally.

I would prefer the players not have any radio communication with the sideline. Ideally every QB would call his own plays. I think if that happened more of the players would be familiar with the entire play (not just their part). I feel like a WR has no idea what to do for the play which is sad. If it’s a run most WRs don’t do anything. If they don’t want to block run a route so the DB turns his back and doesn’t know it’s a run

draft willis and at least watt will get some playing time along with mcfarland and najee when we stun the league and bring back the wishbone. no need to spend big money on DJ, we just need a couple of blockers out there that can catch 3-4 balls a game. :smiley1::cool:

For a right handed guy, why is his left arm bigger?

    I’m thinking that is reversed.

I never saw anyone with a better deep ball arm than Bradshaw,
