yep there is a lot of linemen in free agency, but not a lot of good ones. check out the list and tell us who you would look to sign. i think a good, yet older center would be the easiest to lure away from their team. to be more realistic it might be helpful to check the 2022 cap space of their team. the titans are listed as only having 14 million in cap space. so i think the center ben jones might be had. the saints cant afford to keep their LT terron armstead , but he is going to want 20+ million for his services

Wow, sometimes it hurts but you have to re-examine your thought process and what you do.I think some great points have been brought up in this thread for a healthy debate. So many of the threads have dropped into the pit of name calling and digging but not this one. Some good points, indeed.

and what about McFarland, yet again? Is he still on this team? Alive and kicking?

None of them had the opportunity to play behind a good, consistant offensive line.

Good stuff, I agree. That o-line is job one. I still like the Harris pick, but I won't dismiss the wisdom of building the line first. No matter what, people here would have raised hell had Harris went elsewhere and tore it up. Either way, they got their guy, now they need a competent offensive line. That needs fixed and fixed right before next season.

He’s a goal line RB nothing more. Credit for Arizona finding a niche for him but they have a very good line and he averages 3.7 yards and has 700 yards on the season.

Also, when you have a QB like Murray, it makes defending goal line opportunities nearly impossible.

yep, there is definitely another blast furnace. he has been around for a long time. i just cant remember which board. steelers universe and steelers extreme were started when steeler fever tanked in 2011, which happens to be your date here. he may have been on both fever and universe.
steelers extreme is a dead board. there might be 7 people that log in regularly. they have like 26 members log in this year. most of the mods dont even post there anymore...lol
also i remember a user name hawaii 5-0 from back in the day.

quite a few good ones. we don't need them across the board. our rookies should get better. they were thrown into the fire this year without any good vets around them. bring in a couple and some good coaching and things should improve. it shouldn't remain as status quo from this year on. we have a good RB, WR's, TE's, we just need a couple of additions and a good QB. i'm against just bringing in a fill in vet QB and wasting the years of this young talent at the skill spots.

Probably going to bring in a vet backup center. Work on Green’s technique in the offseason. That’s where most of his problem seems to begin. Far too often linemen are getting their hands into his chest. RIght or left guard will probably be their biggest target. Depends if they want to keep Dotson on the left or move him back where he’s payed the majority of his career. Right tackle is another question mark. Chuks is okay in pass protection, but a liability in run blocking. Banner is under contract for next year. Do they keep the light on for him or replace right tackle via the draft or free agency?

i really do agree about green. the steelers have liked bigger guards, which helps protect the interior and allows the center (green) to do what we used to do with pouncey run block and hit multiple targets in the run game. pouncey wasn't stoudt against big nose tackles and the bull rush either. bigger guards help this situation a lot. one of the guards should be capable of playing on the move as well. we had decastro for that. turner is terrible at it. chucks should be kept as a backup swing tackle on gameday but not the starter. banner is a wildcard at this point. there are better capable tackles out there. guards as well. leglue i still keep for game day as a backup because of his ability to fill in at any spot along the o-line. he's the only guy we have capable of that. those are important to have. i think hasenauer and finney should go and we bring another backup center into the fold. i'd like to see more size with mobility at that spot from a guy that could play anywhere on the interior too.

my guess is we’ve seen the last of Leglue. They were pretty high on coward and jumped at the chance to resign him.

Najee will be broke down by year three in the league. He needs a better oline and a complimentary back with him.

You are kind of making my point. Running backs are a dime a dozen. Give a team an Oline and a QB and running backs are plug and play. A team should never pay one outside of a rookie contract. There are very rare exceptions and it's TBD if Harris will be one of them.

    ..... Okay!!!!!

I think it is safe to state that the Steelers will likely have to invest heavily in the Offensive Line; Free Agency, Draft or both. No matter who is the QB, they will not last a second behind this Offensive Line as it currently stands. Kendrick Green has taken far more lumps than even I thought he would; him even being a starting option heading into next season a fair question at this point. Dan Moore has had his ups and downs for sure but at least he is still worth another look in 2022. Is Trai Turner worth keeping?! Tough to say for certain.

Overall though, I believe that the pathway is quite clear; build the trenches for the Offensive Line come the 2022 Season. For that matter, make it a priority. If not, expect more of the same.

They will probably be picking in the 15-20 range, a LT could fall to them, or Linderbaum could be on the board.

He has better technique than Kendrick Green, but he's a bit undersized too.

His processing abilities, technique and athleticism, even by Center standards, are highly unusual; so much so that I am now officially convinced that the Giants will likely zero in on him come draft day 2022.... provided they actually select the correct player this time around.
