Cleveland drafted JOK, and they have a worst record than the Steelers, and their defense hasn't been good this season

Guess that means he's a bad player. I'm an idiot. Sorry.

    Great in depth analysis.

I can agree on some of this, but drafting a punter with nearly the last pick in the 7th round was not an issue. He punted decent enough in preseason. As the year went on its obvious either mentally or physically he lost it. Not saying he does not need replaced, he's has the talent..does he have enough drive to fix the issues? FA punters, like kickers do not just fall into your lap. I

Nope, but he wouldn't be making that much of a difference on the Steelers IMO, he's an undersized ILB.

thats it. he is too small to be a 3-4 ILB. although he would be a nice asset to have in nickle packages.

    Fire HC.
    Fire OC.
    Fire DC.
    Fire STC.
    Send half the team packing.
    Start Rebuild.
Be competitive again enough for a deep playoff run in 3 years.

yep..have every employee form a line on the field and call out names over the loud speaker and have them take 2 steps forward. tell em all at the same time to get there personal belongings and pick up their pink slips at the exit. :thumbs up:

    1. Agreed
    2. Kenny Pickett or Free Agent
    3. Too soon 9and he is NOT undersized)
    4. They had one, then he was knocked out for the season. Agree they need to draft here.
    5. They need to draft here to at a minimum push one of these two. Nether will be cut IMO
    6. Agreed
    7. I still think Green is a C.
    8. Who is Brandon Ingram?
    9. Why waste anything on a FB? They are hardly used in the NFL.
    10. Too early to quit on the punter. If they stuck with Berry for all those years they can give the rookie another season.

I'd start looking at what I'd actually keep because their locker room has more stiffs in it than the Allegheny County Morgue.

I'd like to see the o-line addressed in a major way, whether through the draft, free agency or both. If Rudolph is the starter next year, they better improve the protection and the running game. After that, ILB, S, and a brutal, mauling NT if one can be found. They might try finding another RB, too. Outside of Harris, the others are all but useless.

Plus, this team really needs to re-assess their assistant coaches.

so you really think they are going to pay schowbert 9.7 million next year ? ...i think they will take the 8 million in savings and cut him. the only reason they picked him up this year was because jacksonville paid the bulk of his salary and they can cut him without eating much dead cap

lol, yup, he will be cut. Didn't realize his salary was that high. Bush is defiantly on the team next year then.

Agreed, Bring Corliss back to compete with Harvin in training camp.

Hopefully Harvin can learn from the Zen Master Bos how to be consistent during the season. Bos has to have a couple of tricks, or slump busters up his sleeve to come back from his 2018 season.

bush's money is guaranteed so no savings to be had. his starting spot should be in serious jeopardy tho. plus his 5th year option wont be picked up so his future earnings is on the line. i guess we'll see if thats enough to motivate him.

Schobert and Banner are almost definite cuts at this point, saving nearly $15m. They might offer to bring one or both back on more reasonable deals but neither will be playing on their current contracts

In terms of team needs they need everything but QB, OLine and Secondary are the biggest problem areas. They will need to find 5+ starters in those areas between the draft and free agency.

They need depth everywhere but they only have so many picks and so much money to spend. There are a lot of players like Juju, Haden and Edmunds heading to free agency and the Steelers will probably let them test the market before deciding if they’ll make them an offer to stay.

Steelers don't even utilize a FB, do we really need one?[/QUOTE]

If they keep Watt around another year, I have to wonder if they are just appeasing T.J. Sounds crazy, but what other reason could there be?

i disagree about the inside linebacker position. we need to fix this area and fast. i'd keep schobert but not for that kind of money. we have tried and tried to fix this spot. bush is far from the answer. now there are two guys that could be gone after but he wouldn't come cheap. bobby wagner or kyzir white. wagners age is a consideration but he's still playing a a high level. think cam heyward. white has had two pretty good seasons in LA. this would only be his 5th season. he played at WVU so they should be familiar with him. the duo in philly would be nice to have here at least that type of success.

    1. OL need at least two veteran starters.
    2. DL. Alualu is pushing 40 and Tuitt can’t stay healthy.
    3. ILB need two starters but I would settle for one if we fix the DL with quality players
    4. WR. Someone who can stretch the field.
    5. RB. I would cut all three of our backups.
    6. QB. A veteran (not top tier)
    7. CB I don’t know where to go to get one. We can’t develop them, so I guess another free agent.

Yes ILB also an issue, I’m hoping for improvement from Bush and then get one quality FA. They seem to be totally hexed at that position, it’s always a need.
