I agree that steelers fans would be happy with a postseason berth, as impossible as that seems at the moment. I also recognize that anything is possible. Recent experience and pragmatism cause me to remain very skeptical that Tomlin & Co. could pull off that sort of miracle. That said, I would happily eat crow and be wrong if they some how managed to go on some sort of miracle run. Maybe the OP is pimply dan 2.0 and we are about to witness an unfathomable miracle. Or, we are about to witness the first losing season of tomlins career at 7-9-1. The latter seems much more likely and less surprising.

With all of MY "Optimism/Hope", for it is about all that I can candidly say stills exists right now; Our Steelers have gotten progressively worse under this Administration over the past 5-10 years now. And for those who do not want to admit it, Tomlin "owns" the brunt of this fiasco.

I have been a "Competitor" as well as a "Coach" for decades. So, I have insight to both sides of the fence per se. I can truthfully look in the mirror and say that I have been fair and objective when it comes to Tomlin. I was really psyched his first five years or so. However, as the onion layers started to slowly get peeled away (A.K.A. Departure of Cowher's Players and Coaches) Tomlin's deficiencies gradually became more and more apparent to me. Now, they are in full view.

Terry Bradshaw, one of the greatest players ever to play the game (4/4 Super Bowl victories, JUST AWESOME!), was so right when he called Tomlin a "Cheerleader". And contrary to some in the media, and Tomlin Loyalists, Mr. Bradshaw does have all of his mental faculties intact and was just stating the truth. However, some Tomlin loyalists cannot except the truth. Tomlin does have some decent Coaching qualities, but he is not the “complete package”. His primary strength is his “gift of gab”. His ability to keep the players in "Believing" to fight the fight. That is what a great speaker can do, “Motivate”. That is fine and dandy but when the results do not go lock-step with the rhetoric, then the message begins to fall on deaf ears as with Tomlin.

Tomlin has been exposed for his weaknesses. Every Coach has them. Now, how you compensate for them is also part of being a good Coach. The Learning Continuum never ends. In addition to bettering himself, a good administrator realizes the IMPORTANCE of surrounding him/herself with a strong “Cabinet” of other Administrators on his/her Team. Again, Tomlin comes up way short here as well.

In conclusion, IMO, it is time for a complete overhaul of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Coaching Staff.
