Ben has hardly distinguished himself with his play this season and is a part of the issue as much as anybody else.

With the personnel they now have available on defence I think any team with a half decent run game will destroy them. There probably is more effort required from some (I’m looking at you Devin Bush) but in a lot of cases they guys starting simply aren’t good enough. Wormley, Mondeux and Buggs are fine as rotational players but they will never hold up as starters. Then TJ is in and out etc

It’s a quality issue, not a motivational one IMO

Up front, I generally agree. Guys like Wormley, Mondeaux, etc. are just not good enough for more than one of them to be on the field at the same time. However at the second level it’s been a :poopy: show of poor fundamentals when making fills and missed tackles. Bush is the biggest culprit with his lame effort, but I’ve seen it across the board. I’ve seen some appalling whiffs by Minkah that resulted in TDs. I’ve seen some bad whiffs from Haden. It’s been a problem for pretty much everyone at the second and third levels, and it turns 5 yard gains into 40 yard TDs.

Missed assignments, confusion, lack of discipline, not on the details - all hallmarks of a Mike Tomlin team, with no superstars to cover for it this time.

It's newsworthy when veteran players call this **** out, even if it clouds up your sunshiny view of the team.

Agree. You just don't see this happening with most teams. The discipline of this team is appalling.

Well, at least our players’ parents haven’t stooped as low as to publicly call out other players on the team, proving that we still have a better culture than the Browns. That’s something anyway…

What is the order of importance to create a winning team? My order would be talent, depth, health, coaching/scheme, and then execution. The Steelers have issues in every one of these areas. Talent: not enough of at OL, ILB, CB, some would add RB, WR, and S. Depth: not enough at OL, DL, CB. Health: DL, CB, WR. Coaching/Scheme: debated at nauseum. The fact there is a debate makes it an issue. Execution: John McKay of the winless Bucs was once asked about his team's execution. "I'm in favor of it."

A fantasy I have is to read that Ben participated in Wednesday practice, recognizing he has to “do better” as he says in every press conference after a loss. Unfortunately, it remains a fantasy.

So strange that we have such confusion on defense when we have a defensive genus as a head coach. Maybe he needs the talent he had in TB .

It almost seems some defensive backs get worse the longer they play here. And I am not talking about Haden that is just age.

Why do you feel the need to defend yourself?
    Why even acknowledge?

Probably that big red nose, giant shoes, and seltzer bottle in your pocket.

You understand that I purposefully started this right?
You called a someone out and all I did was the same.

Generalizations are going to get a reaction.
    I don't think youre a clown, I don't know you. You're probably a good dude.

Obviously you're not a clown and I don't think that. Maybe we just don't understand.

Ben has his post loss interview on a tape recorder and just hits the play button. I find it both funny and irritating listening to guys like Ben who are so eager to take blame about their play knowing there will be zero repercussions because of it. I'd love to see him benched for a series or 2 after a game like last week. I wonder if his taking the hit for the stink left out on the field would be so forthcoming?
