Still have that giddy feeling for a tough win but I hope they get some more game time reps for the other running backs just in case Najee goes down for several weeks.

The other backs just seem not to be well prepared for game time speed with lack of vision or something.

The other thing is that on the play where Bush and Minkah over pursued or took a poor angle....do you think Bush is still not truly playing 100% coming off a major injury?

Thoughts on the RB situation and Bush?

I think Ballage showed some ability earlier in the year. Not sure he can carry the load but at least he could give Najee a breather now and then

I'm not sure on Bush yet ...one way , or the other.
    When I think He's good...He sucks...When I think He sucks He's good.
Yes we need someone 2 give Harris breaks that look better, but It's hard 2 take a talent like Najee off the field. So....I'm not really giving any answers here. LoL

I’d have to go back and look but I think Bush took Minkah out of that play, think that TD was all on Bush. I don’t think he is mentally all the way back yet, they say that is the hardest part, getting to the point to trust the knee.

As for the RB’s, they don’t have anyone if Harris misses time. Ben will throw 45 times a game and try and make do with Benny/Ballage/McFarland.

The Steelers beat a very good Brown's team with more talent than Steelers have
on their roster right now. Rookie RB, center, TE, LT all starters 2nd year Guard third year rt,
plus all young wr's future looks bright going forward. We get that QB no telling where this team can go????

Hard for me to compare running backs behind this OL. Up until the Stains, running and run blocking was a work in progress and currently still is. Improvement is obvious but how much more will there be? I'll put out there that Harris shows he has something the others don't and leave it at that until OL and RB capabilities converge down the road. Right now, comparing RBs is like comparing NASCAR drivers who all drive cars with engines that are underpowered.

These players came back from ACL injuries last year, none of them look like the player they were before.

Bush is playing as I expected; slowly but surely he will return to form. I did say by at least week 6 but it likely will be longer than that. That said, his mental lapses are something to monitor for certain.

As for the RBs, Najee Harris or bust sadly. Snell is just.... ugh...

Ballage had the worst run of the season yesterday. He had Myles Garrett beat around the corner but for some unknown reason he stopped running and let Garrett tackle him for a 3 yard loss. Dri Archer McFarland legs are churning like he is running a hundred miles an hour but he isn't going anywhere. I guess Benny Snell is the best of a bad group of backups. If it is 4th and an inch he'll get you two inches but no more.

Bellage or McFarland have to step up. Snell is limited. He's strictly a between the tackles runner and he's comparatively slow. I thought Bellage looked pretty good in the pre season, but he seems to have poor instincts. I still have no idea what they have in McFarland. I'm getting the feeling they should have kept Samuels. He was more productive over the course of his career than any of the guys they kept as back-ups.

I don't know what to think about Devin Bush. It's anybody's guess how much his reconstructed knee is physically and psychologically affecting his game. I happen to think he still isn't up to snuff on the mental side of the pro game. In college, I'm sure his speed more than made up for many schematic errors he may have made. He doesn't have that luxury in the NFL. He seems to be chasing the play too many times. I think this question is better answered near the end of this season.

I don't think Bush fully trusts his knee yet and he's trying to make up for it by taking different angles on tackles to be safe.
His rookie season, and before he went down, he was flying around the field like a bat out of hell and tackling everything.

Oh and Bush also tore his ACL against the Browns, so it was probably on his mind.

We should've grabbed Adrian Peterson while we had a chance.

Bush had two bad plays that stick out - the bite on PA and first down reception allowed vs. the TE, and the overrunning of the TD run. Not sure how he graded overall.

I'm 100% with you on the running backs, they have a huge drop off after Najee and apparently have learned nothing from 2014. Cross your fingers and hope he doesn't get hurt.

Bush said the knee is fine.

Yeah...I am wondering how he graded overall but in realtime that reminded me of a play the year Troy retired where he actually was there to make the tackle but the RB did one slight incut and its like Troy was paralyzed.

Later..it was disclosed that Troy was playing hurt.
