If Ben wanted to win more championships, he should have taken a back-up job in Tampa Bay

Sincerely, there's no way to describe his actions as anything BUT selfish. Instead of going out with some degree of pride and self-respect, he shamefully pushed himself back on the organization and opted to make this great city sit through ANOTHER season of his degrading, sub-par play. And for what exactly?! Supposedly because he still has a desire to win championship(s)?! Yes! He even had the audacity to leave the door open to more than one championship! It's like, really, dude?! What exactly was he supposed to win these championships with?? His noodle arm, non-existent O-line, and Head Cheerleader Tomlin's incompetence? TRULY, I find it both fascinating and disgraceful at the same time! If we KNEW it wasn't going to be pretty, every analyst KNEW that it wasn't going to be pretty, how exactly did Ben delude himself into thinking that subjecting this great city to another year of pain and embarrassment, under the guise of "wanting more championships", would be anything but a total @!#? show?! And shame on Senile Rooney for allowing this nonsense to continue! If all Grandpa can do is flap his gums about how noodle arm Ben has earned the right to be able to suck for as long as he wishes, then it's time for Senile Rooney to step down, pass the torch, or whatever too .. I remember when being a Steelers fan was something to be proud of. Now we have ownership that basically just tells the fanbase to embrace the mediocrity and deal with it! As fans, we deserve so much better than this! The legacy of this once iconic organization deserves better than this!

SO, was Ben pushing to return for another year simply a matter of him not knowing when to call it a day? Was it about the money? Is he so far removed from reality that he actually thought he was part of a championship team? I truly would like to know the answer to this!

Pretty simple really, ESPN couldn't match the Steelers offer. Stupid Ben strikes again.

I’ve been complaining about this for 5 years at least. Now they have no plan to replace him. Rudolph? Lol no thank you. Haskins? Who knows. When they had the opportunity to draft Lamar Jackson and passed on him for Edmunds I was pissed. I don’t even hear Edmunds name on Sunday’s he’s a ghost. Now they have to deal with him twice a year. Ben’s just cashing checks IMO.

I could not agree more! I also agree that this was about the money more than anything! Unless, in addition to being a noodle arm, he's also dumb as #%@! There's no way he looked at the current roster and the cap space that the organization had available and thought to himself "this is a championship team right here." The way that he ran to the brass shortly after Cleveland handed him his #@! in the playoffs and begged them to retain him for another year at a lower cost was absolutely pitiful! He should be ashamed of himself! He deserves to have the fanbase "boo" his selfish #@! off the field when they wrap up their 5-12 season!

It's time for a mass house cleaning in 2022 and this also includes Cheerleader Tomlin and Senile Rooney! They failed this organization and its fans MISERABLY!!

You joined because you thought you had something valuable to add to the conversation, yet there are a dozen people on here that have been making the same case as you have (only better) for years.
You’ve been on here for five days and you’ve already started two “Ben sucks” posts. Which now makes it 438 for the year. Stop already.

Ben is a Narcissist. Always has been. His ego and laziness wont allow him to be a backup. He also will play as long as he can cause he wont know what to do without the spotlight anymore (and trust me he will not make it as a broadcaster). He might have cleaned up his personal life some but Narcissism is not something you just change. Its always been about Ben for Ben and nothing else and always will be in everything the man does in his life. Thats what a Narcissist is.

I don’t know if he selfishly imposed himself or the FO also had some say. I recalled the team would have taken a huge cap hit had he retired. Supposedly, by coming back the hit was lessened allowing us to go after some of these FAs and sign Watt to a deal. It was sign Ben and hope there’s one more year left or be strap with Mason until we draft someone. In the team’s eyes signing Ben was the lesser of two evils

Yeah, Ben sucks and he is done. I never liked him outside of football but I also don't care what these guys do outside the game. That said, I'll always appreciate Benny boy since I waited a long time from Terry Bradshaw to have a franchise QB and Ben brought a ton of joy for Steeler fans.

I'm hoping Ben goes down soon. Tomlin would never bench him and the sooner he is out of there we can see where we are with Mason. Just think if Mason performs decent enough that we don't draft a QB.

We get it. You don't like Roethlisberger. I don't like him either. That doesn't make you right. You're not.

He didn't force anything. The team chose to bring him back, but only at a reduced salary. I guess accepting that was selfish, too?

I’m intrigued to see, if these are the threads in Week 3, what they’ll be like in Week 17. I worry Bob may have peaked too early with the hyperbole.

As someone who is more than willing to go doom and gloom, FMTI, fire everyone, burn it down and start over...

Even I wait until at least 10 games before slitting my wrists. Usually. ;)

Relax. We're 1-1. If you are this upset already, I can't imagine your TV made it through SB XXX without being completely smashed to smithereens.

Actually, you probably weren't even born yet seeing how immature all your posts seem to be.

I think some people like the OP probably shouldn’t wear the black and gold.

It’s been 2 games into the season. Put Brady behind a completely new offensive line, see what his results are. Better yet put any QB back there and I’m pretty sure you would be seeing the same results. Where would you be placing the blame then, I bet it wouldn’t be the QB.

like I said in another thread, last week, the series we scored the TD on. Ben was in hurry up and calling the plays. Did Ben get the defense hurt? Did Ben make the call to punt the ball with 4th and inches?

No matter who is on that field wearing Black N Gold, I will support and I will cheer them on every Sunday, the same way 8 did when Malone, Brister, Stewart and Maddox was the quarterback.

I am proud to be a Steelers Fan and not a fan to all the other teams year in and year out that never make it to the .500 mark every season. At least the Steelers gives us hope EVERY Season.

This is a thoroughly crappy thing to post and you should be embarrassed. I think rooting for any player to be injured, even one of the Ravens, is pretty despicable. Hoping it happens to a Steeler, even Roethlisberger, is that much worse.
