He is one tough hombre, the years of these beatings have taken it's toll.
he is still our best chance at a winning season. Have to get the running game going,
    this will save #7.

I've been on the "Ben should retire" bus for a while, but I'm not pinning all the blame on him for yesterday.

There was a classic old school Ben play where he shook off some defenders, kept the play alive, found a receiver.... and Ebron dropped it. DJ needs to concentrate more (although he should have got a flag on that INT play). Claypool needs to decide how he catches. Juju is not best used as a stand-in Ryan Switzer.

The pump faking was still good, and the deep ball was far more on target than in previous games.

He had his errors, too, of course. But I think the real problem is that we seem to lack a solid medium pass game. When he was hitting Muth for 10 yards, or the swing passes to Harris with 8-9 yards in front of him, those worked well. But for most of the game, it was gains of 1-3 yards then a long shot downfield. There weren't enough opportunities to keep the D guessing on what we would do.

Complete nonsense. They're at every position, Ben just can hit them anymore.

You need to watch other games. The good/great QBs use the entire field and can make plays on the run. Ben can't do either of those things anymore.

Ebron sucks and if he doesn’t play at all anymore the rest of the year I’m fine with it. I’m sick of him dropping balls and with Pat Fry here now I just feel they have no use for Ebron anymore.

Agree with all of this. Today was just a disheartening display of football all around.

How many passes did Ben complete? What did those receivers do with the ball when they caught it? How many times did we have a receiver with separation and a clean pocket for Ben to throw it with proper technique? I recall two…. He completed one of the 2 for 52 yards . I recall several jump balls that our WR’s couldn’t catch. Who’s that on? That one to chase really came down to a great play by the defender stripping the ball away.

Hows that run game going? Is that on Ben also? How many one dimensional offenses play consistently well? Not many. No run game means 2 safeties and LB’s can basically ignore your rush attack and focus on taking away the passing.

the other games I watch have WR’s with total separation. Kinda like the Raiders had on every 3rd down. I also see other teams gaining 4-6 yards on most rush attempts.

Point is this is a team sport. We dont havre anyone creating big plays. We used to have deep threats. We used to have WR’s like AB that could turn a 5 yard completion into 20. Juju at least can break a tackle. He has no speed but he gives us some YAC and he doesn’t drop it.

We have to use the TE’s and Harris in the passing game. With this Oline it shocks me we almost never have a dump off receiver for Ben.

You have the stats, the question is how many did he complete more than 5 yards past the LOS.

A few guys made plays with YAC yesterday, it's how he got his only TD.

I'm old enough to remember when Ben built a first ballot HOF resume on making things happen off schedule. You're describing what was needed for stiffs like Carson Palmer.

The first jump ball was a sh!tty pass over the wrong shoulder, that was 100% on Ben.

You've got the wrong end of the stick, old boy. No threat of a downfield passing game brings everybody down near the line of scrimmage, the run game has no chance.

Carr was throwing perfect passes hitting his receivers in stride. Ben was not. Stop blaming everyone else for Ben's play. He's stunk for half a season now.
