I thought Brotherhood was awesome. The only problem I had with it was the matchmaking system was horrible. The multiplayer was fun when you could get a match but it was tough for me to get in to a good match. That's my main beef with it. I just put AC2 as the best because it's pretty much the standard that all the rest try to get to. All of them are good really.

Ah. I never really got into the multiplayer. I dabbled with it a bit for Revelations, but the one button kill thing just ruined it for me. Who has better latency? You win. No defense, no dodging, no counters, no control over what attack you use. Just "push B before he pushes A. Or hope he doesn't notice you."

I thought this was well done. A fan made AC Trailer highlighting the game prior to AC3. And not very spoilery either.

So Ray is George Washington gonna be the villain??? From what I've heard it turns out that they are going to make ole George the main bad guy. Am I right on that? I'm so pumped for this dude! Did you see the trailer they showed during the night game on Sunday? He's fighting with the Revolutionaries and laying down some serious pwnage!

I don't know, and I don't want to know. I'm avoiding story spoilers as much as I can.

That said, while it would not surprise me at all, I doubt it. Probably that speculation started due to our seeing in AC2 that Washington had an Apple of Eden. Plus, Washington, Franklin, et al were Freemasons. and for years, people have tried to tie the Freemasons together with the Knights Templar. 2+2 may not equal 4 here though. Ever notice the Assassin symbol bears a STRIKING resemblance (in overall form at least) to the Freemason Symbol? Just as Washington, or any of our other Founders wouldn't surprise me if they turned out to be the big bad... the reverse would not surprise me either. I have a sneaky suspicion that the Assassin and Freemason symbol's being similar is NOT an accident.

One thing I do know is the game's time period extends well past the Revolution, so that may well be true. Or it could mean nothing. (I'd be more suspicious of Charles Lee, if only for historical convenience) I'm betting Benedict Arnold may factor into this game at some point too.

Either way, the story ultimately won't be about Connor and the US Revolution, but about Connor the Assassin vs. the Templars.

You know, it's funny. I remember during the time of AC:Brotherhood. Toward the end, we get Shawn Hastings going on and on about a Phrygian Cap and the Masonic Eye and how they only really came together in one place in the world. Everyone on the forums were yelling France. They had a point, and it could have hinted at the French Revolution. But my first impulse was the US and our Revolution which seemed more likely and a stronger example. "That's where the next game will be!" Everyone agreed... and then we got Istanbul/Constantinople for the end of Ezio's story, and I forgot all about it. :roflmao:

No in the ad I saw it was him fighting along side George Washington and quoting Patrick Henry saying "give me liberty or give me death" I believe and leaving a copy of the Declaration of Independence or something on a dead body and looking down from the top of a hill where a bunch of guys are still fighting. The reason I was thinking that George must be the villain is because somewhere I came across a pic of George sitting on a throne. That would be awesome if they put the whole freemason thing in there. I also have tried to stay away from plot details too. But me and my buddy were talking about how pumped we are for this and I was asking him if he knew about the George Washington thing and he said no and just that he knew the new character was an Indian. I'm just so super pumped for this it's ridiculous!

Was the line, "...we have therefore to resort to conquer or die?" Sounds like the reveal trailer (which is near the front of this thread). If it isn't, I hope to see it soon. Nothing on youtube I can find.

I haven't seen that pic and have no idea why Washington would be on a throne. King George, yes, but Washington?

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm not sure if that's the ad or not. I think the game is gonna have some SERIOUS revisionist history. Regardless it's gonna rock though.

In fact, I'm so disgusted tonight, think I'll start up another AC play through. Doesn't even matter which one. People are going to die horribly brutal deaths.

I apologize in advance for not re-reading this thread, but could one enjoy this game without having played all of the games in the series? I've only played the first one, but the commercials they're running for this are really making me consider getting it.

According to the game developers, they made it so a newbie could jump right in. Of course, I'd urge someone to play at least the 3 Ezio games (AC2, AC:Brotherhood, and AC:Revelations), but time is running too short for that now if you'd want to play AC3 on or near release.

I'm sure they'll give you a "Reader's Digest" of wtf is going on during the game. :) But going into the Wikis for the story surrounding the other games wouldn't be a bad idea. A little light reading, and story wise, you should be ok. After all, AC3 is set in a different era, so the life of Ezio won't be TOO important to Connor's story (what you're really going to need is Desmond's story).

I'm pretty sure youtube has several vids with all of the cutscenes from the AC games to fill out the story too.

Yeah AC2 has had such an impact on the series that Ezio has basically eclipsed Altair so it's really his story you should check out. Even if you just play AC2 for the gameplay alone it's worth it. But you can get all the Ezio games for pretty cheap now probably.

    BTW, Bluntforce,

I've seen that picture you mentioned with Washington on a throne. And I know what it's about (no spoiler). It's part of a DLC planned for the game later on, where we'll play an alternate version of history where Washington became corrupt, succumbed to temptation of power and named himself King. It has nothing to do with the main game.

I also finally figured that out myself and I meant to tell you about it but I had forgotten. That'll be kinda funny.

OK, since I rarely get a game when it's released, I think I'll play my way through the series. Well, I'll try anyway. :)

From my understanding the whole Washington is evil thing is DLC and is basically a "What if?" scenario.

If you want to jump straight into AC3, this video gives you the broad points as best as possible. The entire AC series in 5, er... 7 minutes.

Warning: Massive spoilers for any game up to and including AC:Revelations.
