Generally consistent with my views. I think Ingram can be exceptionally valuable to us if healthy. I don’t see that much upside to Turner, but he should be adequate.

It's an interesting take on Turner. He was good enough in his early 20's to make multiple pro-bowls. A healthy Turner in his late 20's, barring injury, has no reason not to play at a pro bowl level. Fingers crossed that he has a fire lit in him, stays healthy, and makes it back to the pro bowl with a black and gold helmet on. :clapping:

Initial reports unfortunately indicating Turner looking like crap in camp. Old and washed up were mentioned.

The Turner narrative is weird. I don't see why he can't be productive unless injuries wiped him out. Otherwise, he's still a physical beast.

Ingram, me thinks, will be a great sign... and eventual re-sign.

one day of camp? Don't you think it's kind of early for that assessment?

I believe they were fortunate to get Ingram. Some pundits in town would have preferred resigning Nelson. Well, a quality pass rush can hide some secondary issues. And they still don't really know what they have with the guys they are trying to replace Nelson and Hilton with, except for Cam Sutton. Plus, I'm not so sure Nelson wouldn't have kicked rocks and pouted all season if he did come back. I think this is a case of better the devil they don't know. Even if they did sign Nelson, it was likely going to be a one year deal before he left anyway. Ingram could be a good player for them for a few years. As far as Turner is concerned, if he is just marginally better than an injured DeCastro was the last couple of seasons, it's a win. He just needs to stay healthy. The line can't coalesce unless there is continuity.

Definitely too early to make any conclusions but if he looks like **** it is just continuing a trend.

I have concerns about Turner, but let’s wait and see before we call him done. Have they even put the pads on yet? Dude may have a bit of rust to shake off, as well.

    THIS!!!

Our pass rush has been masking secondary problems for a few years. When the pass rush didn't get home the past couple years, our secondary got exposed as the liability it is. Unfortunately, the pass rush won't always get home. So fingers crossed that we're looking at a more competent group of db's.

ingram could be great value - both in the run vs. Lamar + pass rush. he does not have to do it all, just platoon - 20 - 30 snaps a game. Will be fun to watch (i hope!)

I watched every game Turner played his first few seasons in Carolina, because I was watching one of my all time favorite Buckeyes, Andrew Norwell, on the other side of center from him. Those first few seasons, that interior line of theirs, with Kalil at center, was freakin' awesome. Turner wasn't quite as great as he was being made out to be during that time (almost nobody realized, or at least acknowledged, just how much Norwell covered up for both Turner and Kalil then, but that's a different topic). But he was good, and certainly better than the absolute crap some are now trying to put out about him. It's hard for me to believe he just completely fell off a cliff in 12 months time.

    But we'll see...
