Way way too early Game plan against the Bills

My chicken little catastrophic thinking is getting the best of me here. lol

With the expectation of a crowd that will be fired up I was trying to think how the heck this virgin line will not false start and pick up blitzes if Buffalo throws different looks of people blitzing.

What scheme do they now run? Zone blocking?

I know we do not have even the gameday lineup and then there are injuries to factor in but this is a game where the coaches will really earn their paycheck.

It also seems that the Defensive Line has pickup on the short quick passing game and have been blocking passes.

At first I was thinking about what if the new offensive coaches go with a run heavy package but the more I think about it I see Ben wanting to go 4/5 wide and dictate a little to how many people the Bills can bring.

The one thing I hate giving props to Brady about was his ability to make the team declare man 2 man or zone by bringing Welker/Edelman across and see if the LB follows him.

Thoughts?

Bills don’t have a pass rush. Can Allen, Beasley and Diggs have career years again? I think they might take a step back.

Steelers dominated the Bills in the first half of their game in Buffalo last year before Allen and Diggs took over in the second half with Haden missing. With a healthy defence this is one they can win.

 

Mixed in with play action passes down the field. If we can find someone who can do the passing.

 

A young Ben under center and I would love to try to establish the run with play action to Ebron but that will be interesting to follow.

 

I feel more confident if the Bills do not have anybody that can get to the QB. I am also hoping a Bush can spy on Allen also vs Vince.

 

The sky will be falling, so this will be an excellent first game to see if Ben will follow the script and run Canada's offense, or revert to the old old man we witnessed at the end of the year.

Would love to have a mic on Canada, to see how many times he says "That is not the play I called"

At least Canada comes into this season with last years experience of seeing what Ben can do IN his offense, the first 4 games of the season, and what Ben can do TO his offense the last 4 games of the season.

1. Again we haven't run play action in a long time.
We averaged barely below our 10 year average in play action.
2. I swear Ben pissed in a lot of people cereals. LoL.

 

I know when asked Ben says that they dont want him running the sneak either.

Hope they at least give him the option if he sees a crease.

Cant remember the source but I know this came up before.

 

I'd take that with a grain of salt. If sneaks were really of the table Been isn't going to inform the rest of the league.

Our game plan doesn't matter so much, because every opposing D will do what they were doing the 2nd half of last year - flooding the box and making Ben beat them downfield.

Unless our OL jells instantly and dominates the Bills, I see this playing out like a lot of the L's last year. If they can't cover Diggs and Beasley, could get really ugly.

 

The Bills added pass rushers from the draft.

How will the Steelers inexperienced offensive line together hold up vs a quality defensive unit in the Bills that added rookie pass rushers?

 

That's the exciting part.
We will see.

 

I had a 17 year old pick up truck. It served me well and was like an old friend. Even though it kept breaking down and wasn’t dependable I kept it around for a few extra years out of nostalgia. I just knew if I had to drive a ways, this wasn’t the vehicle to take. I needed something newer and more reliable.

Note: My wife is having the same thought about me.

 

With all of our changes, I am having a hard time figuring out which side of the ball will be most influential if we are to win against the Bills. Offense for ball control and run game/ TOP, or defense keeping us in the game because the offense is 3 and out a lot. I am leaning toward the offense right now but I don't know if we have the horses to wear their defense down and keep the Bills' offense off of the field. In other words, I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen.

 

I can tell You. If We win, the people who said Ben is done will say it was the D, or anything but Ben.
If We lose it will be all Ben's fault. LoL.
Also the flip side.
If We win..
All Ben apologist (besides myself, because I'm a Saint)
Will say it's because Ben is still great.
If We lose....It was everything, but Ben , and the Offense.

 

Ok, but You didn't have a 17 year old truck you just rebuilt the Engine, and Transmission in and you haven't had time 2 break it in.

I’m thinking more along the lines of spraying “Fix a Flat” into a bald dry rotted tire.
