Kevin Dotson reportedly hasn't done anything in the offseason

It could easily be a wrong assumption by the sports writer.
As a hypothetical, someone else suggested that this could have happened:

Source: "I heard the coaches aren't confident in a particular guard set to start this year, and they're looking for a plan B, and that's why they brought Turner in."

DK: "Why aren't they confident?"

Source: "He hasn't worked out at all this offseason."

DK assumes it's Dotson because there's no reason to think it's Decastro, as DK reasonably assumed that Decastro was the one "known" quantity on the line.

I agree with this. This looks like a case of a Steelers coach using the media to light a fire under Dotson's ass. No reason for a member of the Steelers Org to leak this unless it was intentional.

 

I wouldn’t. Kemo had a nice mean streak, but it often got him flagged. That, and he wasn’t very good.

 

That he claims his source is beyond question doesn't mean much. I am not at all surprised that he would double down when pressed about his anonymous source.

If Dotson is in good shape but didn't quite reach offseason goals the team set for him, then Kovacevic's report is false, not that he would ever admit it. Remember, he's not just a reporter any longer. Kovacevic is a guy running a business that has to constantly generate traffic.

I’d agree and I wasn’t advocating for him, I think this is a bit of a nothing story. Maybe Dotson came in over or under weight or whatever but I’m sure he will be good to go week 1

Impossible, KD was drafted 3 rounds later and can at least run 15 yards before he needs a breather and an energy chocolate bar. Stephens need oxygen and a sugar IV drip to get in a 3 point stance.
