They're saying Tomlin is most overrated coach possible ever. Fact or Fiction?

I agree with all of the stats, and that the Jags were a very good team in 2017. However I also believe that the Steelers gifted that game to the Jags, and I’m not just talking about the early turnovers. I’m talking about one of the most gutless, weak defensive performances I’ve seen as a fan. After a rough start, the B’s started doing what we all wanted to see when they finally all played together in a postseason game. They lit the Jags up starting late in the 2nd quarter, but the defense consistently allowed the Jags to make improbable 3rd down conversions, and basically played like trash. You can view that as the offense of the Jags making player, but when I watched it multiple times I saw glaring defensive lapses on key plays that should simply have never happened. I’m not going to go back and rewatch again to find examples, but one of them was a prayer heave downfield that caught Mike Mitchell dreaming about what he was going to do with his off-season. Another was an underneath pass where the entire team pretended that there was no slot receiver even on the field, even after he caught the ball. Fundamental lapses from a defense that was beat even though the offense was fighting back and feeding them with momentum. It still sickens me to think about it. Yeah, the Jags were a solid team, but if our defense just plays “OK” football in that second half, we win.

Edit: one more thing. Calling an outside run on 4th and 1 against the fastest linebackers in the NFL was pretty $&&*(ing stupid too.

You are correct about a lot here. This was during a time our Offense could have won a lot , but our D was always letting us down.
Last Year was one of the 1st times I've seen both sides start working at the same time....then...Bam...injuries, on injuries, and everything fell apart. IMO.

I guess Cowher didn't have the team prepared to play, or they were playing down to the competition .

I agree with that, but you kinda missed my point about a 4-win team. It was only to stress my perception of a team's season's success.

Certain topics will usually generate around 15+ pages of regurgitated opinionated statements and Tomlin is top of the list in that regard.

Cowher teams weren't immune to the same problems that Tomlin teams have. The difference is for the most part they didn't happen as frequently or consistently. And for the record I wanted Bill Cowher run out of town too.

Biggest Difference is Cowher didn’t have a franchise QB until his last couple years. TOMLIN has had Ben his whole crappy playoff career.

True that Houston loss was Tommy Gun Maddox who played awful. When Cowher took a detour and went pass heavy.

Yea 15 years ago when he inherited a pro bowl defense with Troy Farrior Porter Hampton A Smith etc

What’s he done lately besides **** the bed in big games?

    Answer. Nothing

I honestly don’t understand how you guys watch the same team I do and defend this man like he is your own son.

Again. I wanted to move on from Tomlin a few years ago. I’m just not going to diminish what he’s accomplished in his time here.

I mean he’s had good regular seasons sure but his playoff record and end of year records lately are horrendous. I agree he should have been gone years ago.
