Franco had 1055 yards as a rookie, if Najee stays healthy I think he beats that record easily.

Given that he has 3 more games than Franco did the odds are slanted more towards yes than no.

Depends on if they are going to have Ben throw 35+ times a game or not.

If they run the ball much more than they did last year then new Harris will be better than old Harris.

With the 17 game season it will actually be 4 more games.

No...if Ben survives the season. More like 800-900 range. Ben will throw for most of plays.

If Rudolph is QB, then yes. This is my logical answer.

I thought they played 14 games during the regular season in the 70’s

I don't know. Forget what I said. I thought they played 12 games back when he started but that wouldn't add up either. I think my IQ and age are starting to even out.:crybye:

Only reason I know was because some asked about records falling this season and how the league would handle them in one of Lab's asked and answered questions last week.

A 17 game season means he would only have to average 63 yards a game to break Franco's record.

    Without question.

Averaging 63 yards per game will not be too much of an problem. That said, it will still be interesting as to how the entire rushing attack is used. The more ways to run the football in a creative manner, the better Najee's production can be.

Idk, our line was pretty bad. Think he will REALLY help the shotgun with his versatility though.

I was going to say the same about the o-line. Najee looks great but the line needs to improve.

I also suspect teams will sell out to shut down the run game and make Ben throw, given how last season ended. That said, I'm optimistic that NH will get somewhere near the record all things being equal.

This thread reminded me just how damn great Jim Brown was. Guy had 1800 some yards in 14 games in 1963. As a very young boy I saw him tear up the Steelers. Different era I know but imagine him with 17 games to play in.

FYI, our beloved Steelers had 3 ties that season.

It should be interesting, I am banking on 1300 for him rushing and another 400 receiving.
For this to happen, the OL must be much better than it has for the past two years and #7 can't be throwing
the ball 45 times a game and keep making costly turnovers.

He must work for Bounty or Brawny, where 2 = 4 and 6 = 10.

Jimmy Brown was still the best ever, IMO. Man among boys out there.

He'd better break the record or something's gone terribly wrong. And let's hope he only plays 16 games, along with Ben and all the other key starters.

If you would have read further, I had already owned up to my mistake. Something you've probably never have done in your life ever.
