I don't think anyone is suggesting bringing in Sherman to start over Sutton. At least I am not. I think Sherman could be used as an inside corner. He might be washed up, but I am guessing he has more in the tank than Pierre or Layne. It would have to be a signing close to the vet minimum.

 

That's a good call. He potentially is better than Layne or Pierre. Layne already has one foot out the door. He better really light it up at training camp and in preseason just to secure a roster spot. Sherman would be a useful addition for the right price. My gut tells me Pittsburgh isn't interested at all.

Another unemployed player we should be considering. Why not. We pulled Haskins out of the trash heap, why not Sherman who's accomplishments are far more. I could go either way depending on the circumstances involved. Not sure how his impact in the locker room would be as we don't have the best leaders in the world right now.

the steelers have been trying for years to play a 3 safety look on defense. IF sherman could or would make the move, i think it would give us good coverage all over the field. minka, edmunds, sherman, sutton, haden. that's a pretty formidable backend. bush in the middle, TJ, highsmith tuitt, cam, alualu. not a bad looking defense i'd say. if we finally become a team to make adjustments we could add a LB'er against heavy run teams and sit sherman. all depending on money of course.

 

We're fine because we signed a bunch of UDFAs.

Seriously? Haskins is 9 years younger with upside potential. Sherman is 9 years older coincidentally and on the down slope. Haskins costs peanuts. Sherman will want big boy money.
