What training camp battle are you most excited for this preseason?

I think Sutton will be a good outside CB but I think he'd be an even better full time nickel. He's a student of the game and has the athleticism to be versatile against different match ups. It seems to me Pierre and Layne are better outside candidates than slot. So if Sutton is the outside CB then someone better step up and quick for that slot position. I would love to see Pierre be that guy on the outside but who knows?? Slot CBs can command a good contract as well. But this is why its such an interesting battle...

 

FWIW at rookie minicamp Shakur Brown took all the reps at slot CB, so he will probably win that role if he shows enough in training camp, Layne and Pierre will likely be backups to Haden and Sutton outside.

 

Buddy Johnson vs. Bince/Spillane. Bush needs a legit running mate, not a poor man's Larry Foote or Dirty Red II.

 

That's why I wanted Zaven Collins to play him next to Bush.

 

if gilbert is healthy and can stay healthy, he may be one of our better corners. he's got much better speed then most. we definitely have some good corners, just really young.

 

Vance Joseph and Kliff Kingsbury clearly see something in Zaven that others do not. That said, I will not be surprised if Zaven is within the DROY voting by seasons end. He still has some stiff competition though.

 

He should be healthy I read that he only played in like 3 games in the last 2-3 years.

 

he had a dislocated hip that required multiple surgeries. he returned to play two games and had surgery for loose bone fragments in his foot and then opted out for covid and to prepare for the nfl draft. as i said if healthy he is quite good. we shall see if he is fully recovered and healthy. he would have been draffted if it wasn't for these injuries.
