Yeah, I don’t think anyone should be wearing it but DHB had it most recently, I think.

Rader won’t give up 87, cut his ass and then give it to Muth.

They should have gave Harvin a 90's number.

One of the beat writers was making a big deal about giving out Pouncey's number saying it just seemed wrong giving a future hall of famer's number to a rookie. Now I like Pouncey and all but HOF really? If you judge him by the two HOF centers the steelers have in the hall already and possibly the best one since Dawson in the 90's that being Jeff Hartings and think Pouncey comes up a bit short.

Steelers only have 2 officially retired numbers.... Stautner and Greene. I don't get why Swann and Stallworth's numbers are given out, but Lambert, Bradshaw, Webster, Harris, Bettis, Polamalu, Ward numbers aren't given out. I don't see the big deal. It would be cool to see Najee Harris wearing #32. DeCastro wears Faneca's 66.

I was thinking he had a SB, all the years sort of blur together, funny thing is, he may have had a SB on his resume if he didn’t get injured. Still impressive resume. I could see him getting in.

As much as Franco's number should be hallowed ground, I would LOVE to see a jersey with #32 and HARRIS finding the sideline a little too much again.

I would almost piss my pants if I saw the Steelers play a game in throw-back jerseys and Najee wearing #32. One can dream.

Maybe. You never know with the trench guys. How many years did Alex Mack and Joe Thomas get probowl and all pro honors on bad Browns teams? Same thing with Kevin Mawae how many straight probowl nods did he get on some lousy Jets squads. HOF voters are a strange bunch of squirrels never know what they look at as qualifying stats. Biggest example to me is Hines Ward. Yes I'm a Steelers fan and yes I'm biased when it comes to Steelers players but yards and touchdowns should be the beginning and the end of the discussion. Ward doesn't have the gawdy stats that Owen's or Moss have but his career impacted the league in such a way that it forced the game to change and that should be considered. Sadly stats seem to be the gate keeper to the discussion and hard to look beyond them when the gate remains closed.

I think the range of numbers for different position groups in years past made it difficult to keep Swann and Stallworth's numbers from being given out. Always lots of receivers vs say 4-5 linebackers or 5 defensive line players. Going forward the easing of restrictions might make that less of an issue.

There are only a limited number of numbers. I have no problem with any number used. They are only numbers.

    That's why I really don't like stats.
How many times does a guys best stats come from a losing game?
    A lot.

It's just weird they gave Pouncey's number out to his replacement. Casual observers won't even realize he's gone. lol

I wouldn't want that number if I were Green.

It was his number in college. You are replacing someone.

If the casual observer doesn’t know, then he is off to a good start.
