Bush should do his homework, Tebow grew up in Jacksonville i believe. His signing is a ticket selling stunt in the religious south imo.

Not to mention he played for Urban Meyer in college. I'm not surprised Meyer gave him a shot. None of this has anything to do with Colin Kapernick.

On their depth chart he is listed as the 4th TE, on the roster page he is not listed yet, but they already have 6 TE's, LOL. If a 34 YO guy who has not been in the league forever, trying to learn a new position, beats outs a 20 something kid...then more power to him. As for publicity..this from ESPN

The Jaguars were already rolling in the ticket department, thanks to the hiring of Meyer and addition of Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick. Even before the draft, the sales office had eight times the number of new deposits compared to the previous several seasons, and the team says more than 50% of those deposits are from people who had never previously bought a ticket of any kind with the Jaguars.

In the CBSSports article by Jonathan Jones ("Why Jags' Tim Tebow addition is no reason to get upset"), he mentions:
You have never once truly, deeply cared about the bottom of an offseason roster.

I immediately thought of some of the discussions on this forum. :goofy:

Wait till we play Jacksonville, Bush says. You mean in the playoffs where they would likely beat us handily? At least not this year given both the Steelers and Jags aren't likely to make the playoffs.

He says that till Tebow runs right smack over his A$$.
He better take a angle, or from behind.
I've seen a lot of Great players just try and take him down.

Only instead of passing for a TD on the opening play of OT, Tebow catches a slant and runs 75 yards for a TD with Bush trailing behind.

Why can't these players just play football for our entertainment and the tens of millions of dollars that they can earn in this incredible capitalistic society?

Newsflash for Devin. Kaepernick and Tebow aren't even in the same stratosphere when it comes to the baggage factor coming onto a team. Both would probably create a media circus but the attention couldn't be more polarizing in their differences. Here is also a thought. Bringing Tebow aboard for the Jaguars takes all of the pressure off of the #1 pick Lawrence in his first year where the media would have been fully concentrated. For that alone it is a smart move by first year coach Urban Meyer.

All the comments from Bush does is stoke the flames of racism where it certainly is not warranted.

It's Meyer's team. He can do what he wants with it. If a coach wants to take a chance on Kaepernick, that's their prerogative too. Literally that's one of the coaches' main jobs... personnel. Tebow is getting another shot bc of his relationship with the current HC, otherwise he doesn't get that chance.

Bush is an idiot as he should know Kaprdick may have been given opportunities to try out for teams and didn't show up. Plus, since the NFL is overwhelmingly black, I would think racism can be ruled out.

Tebow has had no experience at the position. Why would anyone hire a 34 year old at a position he’s never played? Fans and players have a right to be pissed talentless Tebow is getting back into the league before a QB that far outclassed him as a pro.

I don’t even have an issue with Tebow as much as this reinforces the hypocritical blackballing of Kaep. But hey I bet Tebow will stand, sing the anthem really loud, and pray so it’s all good!

Hell ya, I would take Tebow on my team everyday, over Kaepernick! This Steelers team could use more good men, and less **** talkers...Who talk a way better game than they play!
