As of May 6th they were currently projected to be $3,548,238 over the salary cap to start the season.

*Or maybe that is how much they need to end the season?

Both Over the Cap and Spotrac have us at under 9 million (plus), I just took a quick look at spotrac and the proposed rookie hit is around 7 million. Have no idea if it is correct, just added their figures on a quick glance and it came out around that figure. I have read other places 5-6 million. So as always, tight, but thye find a way to get it done.

You are saying correct to 3.5 over but saying “hard numbers” 9.4 in space. Dumb this down a bit and explain this to me in words I can understand.

OK so technically as of right now since we haven’t signed any rookies and they don’t count towards the cap yet we are at 9.4 million under the Cap. When they estimate what it’s gonna take to sign our rookies along with some other estimated costs then That’s where they are coming up with the projected 3.4 million over the Cap.

For myself I’m only worried about where were actually at which is 9.4 million under the Cap. IMO Too much other stuff can happen between now and the start of the season to get caught up in estimates or projections

I was being facetious for certain! :)

No way the team lets T.J. walk. I think the Rooneys have learned from the Rod Woodson Experience and will never do that again.

    Fair enough!

Regardless, letting T.J. Watt go is a colossal mistake.

I'd put it this way. When you look around Heinz Field and other NFL stadiums at jerseys worn by fans there is a good reason you will see plenty of 58's, 75's, 95's, 91's, 92's 50's and now 90. The fan base loves defense so you don't let a talent like TJ Watt get away from your franchise not even for a QB.

Yeah, but mine are mostly boring. You pepper yours with colored fonts and sizes, and the occasional Justin Timberlake pic.

Glenn really appreciates the last one, btw.

Unpopular opinion, trade him and trade him now. We're not winning any super bowls any time soon. So take that capital and invest in the future. The only reason you keep him is if you are ok with semi-decent seasons and want to keep ticket sales up.

Not being a smart A$$ here , but what your saying...if I'm correct...is trade one of our best , brightest , and younger players...So we can draft ...Hopefully a player as good , and that will make us better somehow??

Bud got 85 million and 35 million guarantee. I can assure you that at least 30 million guarantee is not on the table, more like 50 to 60.

Filliponi is a chode. He's about as provocative as a cheese sandwich. Surely The Fan can do better. I find my self listening to Madden more than the pm team on The Fan, unless they have a guest on I'm interested in hearing.
