He has become a statue. Where in his hay day he could shed tacklers, brush off linebackers now he can't even move like wearing cement shoes.

Balanced offense, keep his throws at 35. Retirement tour.

Reminds me of the time I dug up and old GDT on the day we were playing the same team. Man did I confuse a few people.

he got hit hard in the Dallas game, a few times (and around the knees). He was not the same after that game.

I'm sure we'll this summer hear how,yet again, Ben's in great shape and has lost a bunch of weight. And of course he'll look exactly the same.

Last year: Bens arm feels great, for the first time in 15 yrs, it’s not bothering him. He’s showing amazing zip on the ball in practice.

This year: You know, for a lot of guys it takes 2 yrs to fully heal from elbow surgery.

    I don't believe it's the 2 years 2 fully heal .
I believe it does take time 2 acclimate how the Arm works again now that its, better, stronger, or even worse.
Plus the mindset of ...did that just hurt, oh crap I landed on it, is it ok, and Man I hope they don't Hit that again type of thing.
    No training camp doesn't help.
Also no practice by him doesn't either , but I believe that was because of the knees after that Dallas game.

Kaboly as well as some other beat writers had commented early on in camp that his throwing motion was different and something to watch.

Ben didn’t have trouble throwing deep, he had trouble with is accuracy, short and long range. Changing your throwing motion after throwing one way your whole life could definitely cause that.

It definitely got worse as the season went on. First few weeks he could do it well enough to be effective, though he is no where near what he was when he was younger.

I just feel he hurt his knee and couldn't step into throws. He was hitting Claypool deep early in the year. Something changed.

If you can't step into a throw you are going to lose something. Some of it is definitely age though, we will see I guess...

Yep I definitely feel that he was well to aware of any twitch, pull, tightness, muscle ache, bruise or bump. I would say scared so much as really thinking about it unlike when you are young and think running into a brick wall or a car's windshield doesn't give you pause to rethink your life. No one wants to end their career like Shazier, they want to go out on their own terms and I'd bet that is always on Ben's mind now

Using motion and misdirection are usually to get some clue as to how the defense is going to play you. In order to use it effectively you need to have the QB put in the study time which Ben is notoriously reluctant to do. I think that's why the presnap movement seems to tapered off the last few years.

I get a lot of people throwing stats at me when I make this observation. My question is: How much better could the stats have been with better effort? The effort he was paid for.

All I know is not everyone is the same. I've brought this up before about playing with guys that had 2 practice right up till they played, and some guys couldn't because it cause paralysis by analysis.
If they thought about it 2 much they would freeze up, or choke.

Not everyone is the same. I agree. But I do believe everyone accepting a paycheck should give their best effort whatever that level is.

Never knew they made square cigarettes. I have no clue but could be cigarettes or a protractor that smokes good.
