I'm not sure, just another stat some nerds came up with IMO.

Kelce is not just a receiver. He is actually an excellent blocker, too. Guys like that are damn hard to find, but a good blocker who can at least be a competent receiver is realistic. That is the hope with Freiermuth.

SR6, did you watch him play?

I dont know if it was because of the pandemic or what but I didnt catch a lot of Penn Stat football.

I am curious if there are any PSU fans that are giddy about the pick.

I am guilty of thinking that the TEs that Baltimore and Cinci picked up over the years were game changers like Matt Williams an Tyler Eifert but maybe its a Browns or Jets thing where the player gets ruined or never reaches full potential.

I saw him play a few times this season, he's probably better at receiving than blocking, but he has to be more consistent than Ebron.

I'd certainly trust them over the opinions of fans, myself included. They break down every single play using the All-22. Of course in the end judgements like that are subjective, but I think advanced stats like this help far more than they hurt.

SteelersDepot, Pro Football Reference and Behindthesteelcurtain are also good sites. However, there is a site that I like better than all of them. That site is called Sports Info Solutions.

That site is definitley worth checking out.

Is it plastered with enough ads that one cannot read the content like some of these other sites?

For what it’s worth, since I believe it was before your time, TTF the originator of this site I believe once worked for PFF. He expressed some opinions both good and otherwise.

PFF are killing the Steelers right now, completely writing them off. They called the Denver game at Heinz Field an easy win for Denver on the schedule in a recent pod, I actually had to go back and listen again because I thought I misheard.

The Steelers are the antithesis of their analytical modelling and they thrash them every opportunity they get for that reason. I listen to a lot of their stuff and there is merit in much of their analysis but some of their analysts have a very noticeable hang up when it comes to the Steelers.

Their core beliefs are that the passing game is more important than the run game and that the run game is largely powered up front, RBs are interchangeable for the most part. They also are big believers that defense should be built from the back to the front in today's game. QBs get rid of the ball so fast they can mitigate the pass rush, so you'd better be loaded in the 2ndary.

Given those fundamental tenets of their philosophy, it's easy to see why they're piling on the Steelers, who are trying to recreate 1972, this offseason.

    Everyone?!

Oh most assuredly not me. I like this draft class actually. In addition to having a Pre Season, having that Training Camp will definitely aid the Rookies into their transition; some more than others for certain.

Of course we won't know for years, I just disagree with the overall team-building philosophy this offseason. I may turn out loving it in a few years, even after Najee is out of the league.

Lots of GM's on this board and that's good because its easy, entertaining, and there is no accountability or stress from a keyboard unless you're hung up on being right or proving someone is wrong. Nonetheless, I have faith in KC's picks because he knows infinitely more than I do and those on this board. However, based on my interpretation of what I thought was needed in getting back on track after how we ended last year, it was my hope that Ben was going to retire, we would get a line to open holes up 1st vs a RB to run through no holes, and not be as cheap or as lazy as I believe we were in getting our coaching staff back on line. Otherwise, all is well. As will probably be proven later, it is better that I am not the GM.

Yeah I listen to a lot of their stuff because I find it interesting. Steelers doing almost the opposite of their thinking is what drives it I’ve no doubts. They can’t do any sort of show or NFL analysis without getting in a dig about the Steelers

Have you been on the Pittsburgh Tribune's website lately? The second the page loads you get a media player starting, a push to subscribe and two ads blocking the article. It's crazy.
