Edmunds was far from BPA. Look at the stats I posted. Could have got similar production in late 2nd to 5th round. That's terrible.

I didn’t say he was the BPA. I was saying that they don’t draft BPA.

Now wait a minute. That ranking has Edmunds ahead of Leonard. That was the point right? That other stuff is another debate.

LOL ouch. If Edmunds is 3rd rd value then Leonard is 4th rd :lolol:

There is no other debate, it’s ok to say the Steelers chose wrong but everything else is some weird obsession Scribe has with this.

VA Tech fan here. I was confused when the Steelers took Edmunds. At first I thought it was his brother who was already picked by the Bills. Terrell Edmunds was a good player for VT, but I never thought of him as a 1st rounder. NFL caliber, yes.... 1st rounder, no.

Obviously you have lower standards than I do. Lots of people do, unfortunately.

The thing that kills me about this pick. 1) Tomlin clearly pushed for it + 2) Look at another 1st round bust, Artie Burns. Yeah, we missed out on Xavier Howard but almost every corner pick after was a bust too. With the Edmunds pick we could have literally waited until late 2nd to 5th round and picked any other safety than we did and got similar production. You can't say that about the Artie Burns pick.

I don't dislike Tomlin. He's just bad at X/O's and evaluating talent which goes hand in hand. That's how I've always known Belicheat was a cheater. He's horrible at evaluating talent and drafting. Then I'm suppose to believe he's able to take below average to average talent and XO them to Champions? Yeah right.

That's why the early years of Tomlin was the best. Colbert and scouts handled the draft and Tomlin motivated them to play. The more and more Tomlin has got involved in the other aspects. The more of a **** show it has become.

Maybe I should have them pick my lotto numbers? Because we have some clairvoyant people here apparently.

i still say it was a panic pick and they were not going to wait to maybe miss out on a safety again. the year prior we missed out on the top 3 i believe it was by just a few picks every round so this year they were going to get one because it was a huge need. so yes he may have gone earlier then in other years. sure we could have waited and got the same production but there was no way of knowing the production at the time the pick was made and we were not looking to draft a LB or RB at the time. we needed a safety.

The other stuff is part of the overall discussion. That Chubb was so far ahead of Edmunds is relevant. That Edmunds was listed as a third-round value is relevant.

What weird obsession? They chose poorly. Leonard was one of many options that would have been better. One list that has him behind Edmunds doesn't change that.

You expect everyone to keep up with arguably the greatest player in NFL history. Somehow, you believe that is realistic.

I’m not doing this with you bro. You claimed that not one ranking pre draft had Edmonds ranked higher than Leonard. I provided one.

I claimed that I hadn't seen one, not that one didn't exist. I certainly wouldn't claim to have seen every pre-draft ranking out there.

It is funny how some of you who so desperately want to defend the Edmunds pick want to ignore that even that list had him as a third-round value.

Not 2 argue....but that is wrong. I dont know where you got that from, and don't care unless it was your own eyes. He was responsible for more than 1 TD given up last year. My Friend this is one thing don't listen 2 what others say ....Go watch every TD given up by The Steelers from snap 2 TD.
I know I sound like a broken record, and yes he was better last year, and pray he's better this year.

You do like to twist things around to fit your narrative.

I never suggested anything like what you just made up. I just think that if someone is taking millions of dollars or even tens of dollars, they should give their best effort.

I do not expect everyone’s best to be the same.

Sorry Bro , but this post sure seems to indicate you don't believe there was one. Your post says every ranking, not "every ranking that I've seen" You threw out that challenge and it back fired. It happens to the best of us sometimes. That link I posted was literally the first result in my search for 2018 draft rankings.
As far as that "some of you" nonsense, I'm not arguing that the pick isn't looking like it was a huge reach. The Steelers took him where they took him. Was it a mistake? It's sure looking like it. I really don't care though. What's done is done. As far as hindsight and all that other stuff. For me it's all hindsight since I don't really follow college football.
