Didn't help that the offense almost spotted the Browns almost 14 points before the defense ever even stepped on the field.

 

I agree, but if your D is as great as a lot suggest.....at least hold them 2 a field goal....at least once. Could have been a vastly different game if they did.

 

The offense did put the defense in a bad spot, but it was still a disappointing performance by the defense, nobody stepped up and made a play. Tomlin gave TJ, Heyward week 17 off, and they faced some backups on the Browns OL and still sucked .

 

TJ Watt was getting double and even triple teamed on all game long. Cameron Heyward was being heavily schemed against as well. That really is where players like Tuitt and Highsmith come into play.


That said, regardless of his shortcomings, TJ Watt's triumphs more than make up for it. There really is not a 3-4 OLB in the game today that comes close to TJ Watt... period. Losing him would be a colossal mistake.

 

I guess the 5th year option is off for Minkah. Must be because they had to make room for Schobert.

 

Minkah's 5th year option is already picked up for 2022.

 

yep my mistake, they won't be working on an extension until next year.
