I've heard the term zone blocking used lately. Now I admit I'm an old man and I don't keep up with all the terminology. So if someone could quickly tell me how many different schemes there are and how those schemes affect the way you draft offensive linemen I'd appreciate it. If this thread is out of line then feel free to delete it. Thanks

    Keeping it very simple

zone blocking scheme gets your linemen on the move and asks then to block an area...your RB attempt to make one cut back to the crease that hopefully opened

Power scheme more hat on hat ... the line is to open a specific gap .. the RB is to hit that gap and then pick his hole based on what opens.

Someone on this board recommended an excellent book to learn:

Take your eye off the ball - Pat Kirwan

I bought mine used on eBay for about $4. It teaches a lot. It has a section on blocking but it’s about 4 pages so too much to cut and past. Rather than regurgitate what I think I just read, someone here can assuredly do a better job.

I like reading books on my electronic devices. I ordered it in Kindle for 9 bucks I think. I can relax in bed with the lights out and read with no problem. I appreciate you telling me about the book. Folks here are mostly pretty nice

Can you read on those outside? Glare? I’m thinking of when I’m sitting on the deck at the beach?

yes. I have several different readers. There's a kindle with what they call white page screen which is exaclty like reading a book. That's what I use if I'm in the sun or dealing with glare. Those are pretty cheap and the books are delivered right to the device. Thye have something called whisper net that you don't pay for sore of like wifi

One nice day I was sight seeing at the beach. My wife noticed and was cool. She told me I could read the menu but I just couldn’t order anything to eat. I asked if I could maybe have a cup of soup or an appetizer. Then I got whacked on the head.

Amazon’s Whispernet is a 3G wireless plan provided by the company, free of charge. To access Whispernet from a Kindle with the proper hardware, turn on the wireless option in the device’s menu. AT&T provides the connection for the Whispernet service, so you should be able to receive a signal anywhere within AT&T’s coverage area. Once connected, you can browse the Amazon store, purchase and download books directly via 1-click, and access Web content.

THis is the kindle reader with whisper net. I tried to be kind of techy here so I hope it works

Do you work for tech support???
    I can't do that.
I live far enough out sometimes my whispernet takes awhile to connect, but I live 2 hrs from a book store so well worth it.

Yup where I found the explanation, the LT, LG, and RB work to together, the C, RG, and RT also. Both squads assign gaps based on if a blitz is coming or not. It's just like DB zone coverage, you cover your part of the field not a man.

yeah it's AT&T so I've had no issues connecting with it unless I'm out in the woods away from civilization. But usually no issues. I like books as well but I've grown used to the convenience of being able to have a lot of books at my fingertips without carrying them around. LOL not I'm not in tech support at all. My wife would laugh at the suggestion!

I'm agreeing. I do live out , so sometimes I have problems connecting, but the Kindle is almost all I read. I love that I don't have 2 put my glasses on 2 read on it.
