As I said already; Top 100 player for me. Getting him in the sixth was highway robbery. Look for him to challenge Cassius Marsh right away.

Why did he drop so far? I saw his 40 was not impressive.

Scheme limited I believe. That said, if that is really the case, shouldn't Azeez Ojulari have face plated stock wise then too? Yes, not going in the First Round was a bit odd but he did not slip into the fourth though.

I have decided I am not falling for any of this hype until I see all of them perform against NFL players and not in a preseason game.

I hope they all turn out to be better than expected but I don't think every other team let a top 100 player drop 116 positions.

The first test of a draft year is how many make it out of training camp.

First two rds should contribute in the first year, 3rd and 4th special teams or developmental future starters and after that its a crap shoot.

Depends on if he is quick not so much fast.

I remember years ago Bum Phillips went to the combine, or whatever at the time. He had defensive linemen running 7 yard dashes. Someone asked why? He said “ If my defensive linemen have to run more than 7 yards, I have bigger problems”.

It will come down to him learning the playbook and what he can do in coverage.

He can come off the edge. When I was watching the oline drills in mobile he was abusing the OTs with his speed rush. Quick first step and good shoulder dip... but did not see much bull rush.

But pure pass rusher... love this pick

I may be mistaken but his 40 was the same as TJ and Alex. He may not be as athletic, but his straight speed was one of his plusses (or so I thought).

I know people will laugh, but this is surprisingly one of my favorite picks, and I didn't even know we drafted him.
Also his 40 time is better than TJ. , of course that means nothing.

Watts combine 40 time was 4.69, Alex was 4.68..this guy is faster lol.But as stated his athletic ability may not be on par with them.

He is probably going to have to get a little stronger, but it is hard not to love how he gets after the passer.

look at his cone drill time. If it is more than .2 faster than his 40 than he is quick and explosive.

Goes to show you that combine numbers are pretty much meaningless.

Some of the highlights they were showing on the draft coverage showed him shedding blocks off the edge to get the RB also.

He is a real exciting prospect.

Might need to get stronger, but most guys do. Highsmith said as much after the season as well.

Only thing I don't really like is he seems to want to grab and throw on some tackles. He's going to need to wrap up a little better in the pros. There's some guys in the division that would shrug some of those tackles off.

I have a buddy who played football for Miami, so he watches all of their games with the same kind of fanaticism that we watch the Steelers. He loves Roche and thinks we got a huge steal. There is plenty to see on YouTube including full games from last year and 2020. It’s pretty easy to see that there’s a lot to like in his game, but there’s also a lot to work on before he could be an every down NFL edge defender (especially holding up vs. the runs right at him). I think our coaches can develop him into a very solid player, and I think that Day 1 he’s an upgrade over Cassius Marsh.

I'm hoping Roche beats out Marsh for the #3 OLB position.
