He seems very athletic. It certainly makes sense if we're going to a more ZBS oriented run game.

The Steelers have a long history of favoring athleticism over size at center. That practice has served them well and Green certainly seems to fit that mold.

That athleticism I’m sure is what got him drafted over a mauler like Meinerz, it’s what Canada needs.

For the fans that wanted Meinerz, Colbert said he favored players that played in 2020.

I like the pick. The kid seems enthusiastic and says he'll play center or either guard position, whatever they want. Says he's going to be a sponge at camp and he can't wait to get started. Never hurts an interior lineman to be versatile.

I am I reading the pundits rankings correctly? Was Green the third C/G taken up to that point?

I wanted a center in round 2 but this kid fits the mold of a Steeler. A commitment to the run game! This Steeler Fan loves it...

Best they could probably do after they ignored the OL for 2 rounds, good stopgap between Pouncey and the next in a long line of HOF centers.

Short, short arms, needs a lot of work in pass pro. I mean if you want to consider him a lottery ticket, sure, but nobody thought heading into the draft that anyone but Humphrey/Dickerson was the heir apparent.

Don't rewrite history just because he's our guy, if the Browns drafted him everyone would point out his weaknesses and pan the pick.

Just like I am not believing all the great things Harris will do for us until he does, this kid may be more than a stopgap in the end when he gets the chance. Can't tell what any of the picks will do for anyone until they can prove it on an NFL field. JMO>

Would you say the same thing if we drafted a LB that was 6'4" and a skinny 220 lbs and that there is no way he could be a HOFer? We did before and he is in the HOF. What is between the ears can make up for physical shortcomings. I agree with you we needed OL to make holes before a RB to run through them. I am confident in KC making good decisions. Knocking on wood as I type this. LOL

Dude needs some work in technique, but that is teachable and he seems teachable. You cannot teach that nasty attitude, motor that keeps driving until after the play. If in fact he cannot cut it as a pro center, he has the talent to slide over and be Decastro's replacement. Hopefully he can become that C, but still likely a very good long term linemen regardless.

Understood for every draft pick. I think it was on Greenie (or another ESPN show) recently, only 25% of QB's sign a second contract with their drafting team, 64% of OL do (cannot remember if they specified T,C, and or G), all other positions fall somewhere in between. Of course there are many parameters at work, FA, cap situations, down right busts. So it's all a lottery. Dickerson may become a HOF center, he may never take an actual NFL regular season snap. I do not think anyone would have predicted Dotson would step in and perform like he did coming from the 4th round, we expected a lot more from Artie Burns being chosen in the 1st.

305 is considered small on the line. I like them in the 320 to 330's.
