    Meh..

I have quite a few letters sitting in my closet as well. Yet here I am reading about football on a message board.

All these guys have had stellar high school careers or they wouldn't be where they are. You'll have to do better than that.

Philly has the reputation of nasty fans, but I think Cleveland can give them a run for their money. Anyone remember ten cent beer night?

Monty Rice to the Titans is a solid pick. I got a chance to study him a little for the board draft. I think he can contribute right away.

I am pleased with the draft to this point. It looks like the Steelers will be trying to have a more balanced offense. A part of offensive football is to show one look and be able to run plays counter to that look. Harris and Friermuth will help in that area. If they want to go more power football, they may not be great, but they will be better than last year. Now go draft some defense.

The Steelers' first two picks were good values at positions of need. The third pick might have been a small reach, but it was a position they absolutely had to address and he is the type of athlete they have favored at center.

Most importantly, the Steelers had to improve the running game. They added three guys who should make an impact in that area from day one.

Steeler fans are going to love Green. A 300 pound energizer bunny that likes putting his hands on opponents. He’s nasty and he’s ours now. Love the pick!

32.2 is usable. That however is far from my concerns with Green. While he does have sufficient reps st Center, how long will it take him to supplant BJ Finney?!

Side note; Kendrick Green was a consensus Day Two pick. Reaching for a player is what the Saints did Day One and in 2018 trading up for Marcus Davenport. Massive difference overall.

    Context folks.

I'm not sure if I missed that in other posts. I conceded that he might be a mild reach with some rankings having him going 15 or 20 picks later, but the need and the fit make him a good pick. That was not at all a complaint about taking him at that time.

    Context within the post. :)

Just goes to show half of Steelers nation aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.

Same, unless an undersized guard converting to center beats him out. Finney will almost certainly start the season at C.

Dickerson only slipped because of the medical questions. If they were huge question marks, he would have gone undrafted.

Hopefully this kid is ready to start at center week 1. Better start working on his shotgun snaps if he is a guard.

Most scouting reports have him listed as a backup that "may" turn into a starter. They had the chance at a center that was ready from day 1 and passed. I guess we'll see how this turns out. I don't have the info the Steelers have and at this point simply have to trust they took the right guy

Yeah, seems the consensus is that he's a solid back up who's valuable because of position flexability.

In the 3rd round though? This dude will be the starter eventually. Just a matter of time.

They wouldn’t specifically draft a back up in the 3rd.

starting eventually isn't what we needed. We needed a starter next year. We'll see how he pans out

I like Green, but I don't expect him to come in and start right away. Finney probably still starts the season at center.

yes. Medical concerns. That’s why he’s not a first round pick. I’d put money on him not working out due to his medical issues.

I think the info the Steelers had was that they thought RB was the only issue with the run game. Let's see how that works out for them.

I think the professions that run the team have a better sense of what they need to do more than the arm chair GM’s sitting at home. They have a plan built around more information and knowledge than we do.
