He will be the last one standing out of this current group of QBs on the roster.
But he will be the backup for years to come!

Ben being a Cave Man; Dobbs is in charge of running the tablet for him during the game.

I don’t blame him for being annoyed with the team. He is in the Autumn of his career and they draft his replacement and a backup running back with their first two picks last year. They should have been in full ‘win now’ mode last year. Imagine what Claypool or Higgins could have done for them with just one of those picks, or even a decent corner or linebacker. GB only have themselves to blame.

Reading between the lines I’d guess Rodgers people contacted SF to try to engineer a trade and when he realised GB weren’t interested in trading him he dropped the grenade today. He will be gone from there next offseason at latest. Possible option for the Steelers if that is how it plays out

Idk, Bumbling Ben has the organization bent over pretty far. Not sure I'd like a smarter version of our diva pulling Tomlin's strings.

Yeah I think you go with a young guy if you can. If you trade for Rodgers he will want a new contract on the way in and with all the roster churn I don’t think they’ll have the team around him in the short term, especially if they give up a draft haul to get him in the first place.

He would make most sense for a team like Denver or New Orleans where most of the pieces are in place except the QB. If Denver had even capable QB play they’d be really good imo

Rodgers is perennial top 5 QB for next 5 years, Ben is not gonna get any better, I fear. Think it won't matter, Stink was on Denver radio here talking that Denver/ GB have an almost done deal. FML, get rid of Brady, import Rodgers.

Except they just acquired Bridgewater. Don't know if they have much left to trade at this point.

I think the Mason extension is a really good idea seeing there was no QBs truly signed beyond 2021

Not wise to jerk around the future franchise guy with a 1 year extension. Should follow the Mahomes blueprint

Eh, OK. If Ben retires next offseason and Rodgers is available via trade you don’t think the Steelers pick up the phone, along with every other QB needy team?

I don’t expect him to end up in Pittsburgh but they will have the need and plenty of cap space. Anybody that dreamed of Brady to Tampa twelve months before it happened would have been told they were in fantasy land too. But this sort of stuff can happen if a players is disgruntled and the team needs to move on.

Bear in mind GB will probably be looking to deal him to the AFC too, putting probably half of his suitors at a disadvantage. Same applies to Wilson, who may also be on the move at some point.

BTW I’m not advocating for it at all, if GB deal him they’ll want too much, hindering whatever team acquires him from a team building perspectives for several years. I think his most likely destination is Denver, buts it’s not fantasy at all that the Steelers would be in the mix.

He can hold down the fort. The 2022 1st rounder will hopefully be a QB.

Good move. Rudolph is the only QB besides Ben who can win games for the Steelers. If Steelers have to go to Dobbs or Haskins.... they are in trouble.

Good. He deserves a fair shot at the starting job. That means going a full offseason knowing he will be the guy. Thrusting him into the lineup and expecting that to be his full potential is unfair to him.
