Pretty easy vote for me, it's Batch.

He was quite the party guy already, but I think you're right. Once someone gets in to the opioids and can't do without, it's a bad situation. It's a real shame. Joe had one of the better arms in the league. I was a kid then, but I can remember discussions about him legitimately replacing Bradshaw. He was that good.

On Nov 15, 2015 the backup QB came off the bench in relief of the starter and threw for over 370 yards and 3 touchdowns for the win over the Browns.

Batch was good, but my vote goes to Mike Tomczak. he played well when no one else could, the QB carousel seemed to be in full effect then and when Mike got the call he performed pretty well all things considered. Meaning the team was a wreck and going through major transitions at the QB position but he didnt embarrass himself or the team in my opinion.

When finally settling on a starter, Chuck Noll thought Terry Hanratty was the smartest of the three, Joe Gilliam was the most athletic of the three, but of the three, Bradshaw was the most likely one to take them to a Super Bowl.
