Samuels costs virtually nothing and he is a key contributor on special teams, that’s why he is still on the roster. I don’t think they view him as part of the backfield group any more, except as emergency depth and the odd trick play.

9 rushes last year for 28 yards. 9 receptions last year for 46 yards. made 1 tackle on the season. only played 30% of the STs plays last year. not exactly a must have for near 1 million in salary. he is not a key contributor on STs.

Fournette practically matched those numbers in the 3 game postseason..... He was in a major timeshare during the regular season and was turned to when it mattered most, and he delivered big time..... My only issue with him would be his injury history

Yeah, when Fournette is healthy and going well his ceiling is on another level entirely to Snell or even James Conner

Injuries are definitely a concern though

I don't know how Tampa Bay was able to retain all 22 starters from their Super Bowl team , their cap guy must be really good.

They have some rookie deals and some very old vets willing to work for minimum and a bunch of guys who check their ego at the door to be a better team. They are gambling one more bite at that apple before having to start again. Evans will want paid, White, Shaq Barrett, OJ Howard, Jones and so on. For now they are all singing Bradys tune of what's best for the team.

sure don't want to sign a guy like dallas and then he chit the bed. draft a guy that wants to show what he can do and then you usually have something. the trouble starts on the second contract. i think snell is getting a bad rap for having to run behind a bad line. he was good in college. he didn't forget how.

I think the ideal mix of a team in this day is comprised of younger talent on rookie contract augmented by some higher dollar first contract (possibly FA) players, and a sprinkling of middle of the road fill ins/veteran guys.

It's the formula that brought the last two Stanley Cups to the Pens. Having that right blend of young guys and savy veterans, superstars and blue collar and most importantly the right staff to put it all together. Going to have to be the Steelers path in the near future.
